Quinton J. Sullivan

Quinton J. "QJ" Sullivan, 92, passed from this world on Friday, May 11, 2012. He was born in Louisville, Mississippi, on October 12, 1919, to James Edward Sullivan and Minnie Luke Sullivan. He was a hard working man who never wanted to retire. He enjoyed every day during his time with International Harvester. Quinton was also co-owner of Mercury Transportation. When he was not spending his time at Mercury, he would also work as a Gentleman Farmer. QJ proudly served with the Marine Corps in the South Pacific. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crosby as well as a Mason and a "man of the stock market". Quinton was a loving husband and father, and believed very strongly in taking care of family.
He is preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Quinton is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois Sullivan, and his daughter, Sandra and husband, Eric W. Moerbe. He is also survived by grandchildren, Capt. Wesley Alan Moerbe, US Army; Angela Dawn Layne and her husband, Chris; great grandson, Noah Layne, as well as many great friends.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, May 14 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sterling-White Funeral Home. A celebration of Quinton's life will be on Tuesday, May 15 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Crosby, 615 Runneburg Rd. Crosby, TX, 77532 (281) 328-2564. Quinton will be laid to rest following graveside services in Preston, Mississippi, at Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at Dry Creek Baptist Church from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
