Mrs. Margaret Frazier Cunningham, 95, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 20th, at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Cunningham was born January 28, 1916, and was a lifelong resident of Winston County. She was a member of West Union Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered as the ultimate homemaker, who devoted her life to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Cunningham, her son, Stanley Cunningham, her parents, Ruby and Milton Frazier, and four sisters, Dorothy Liber, Naomi Bilbro, Shirley Baird, and Joan Thaggard. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Byrne and husband, Tim, of Jackson; Madalyn Hindman and husband, Steve, of Jackson; Janice Atkinson and husband, Bobby, of Starkville; and Lisa Speier and husband, Trent, of Littleton, CO; a son, Douglas Cunningham, and wife, Allen, of Jackson; daughter-in-law, Julie Cunningham of Louisville; brother, a brother, Oran Frazier of Louisville; a sister, Barbara Nemitz of Pascagoula, MS; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Michael Byrne, Courtney Byrne Maroun, Tracy Hindman, Douglas Hunter Hindman, Dr. Bradley Atkinson, Mary Atkinson Smith, Katy Cunningham Miller, Emily Cunningham, Philip Cunningham, and Anna Schellbarn; and 6 great grandchildren. The family thanks Evelyn Mays, the staff of the Winston County Nursing Home, and Quality Hospice for their compassion and care of their mother. Mr. Walter Raymond Trice, Sr., 88, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Veteran’s Administration Nursing Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Monday, April 11, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Bevill Hill Cemetery. Mr. Trice, born September 1, 1922, was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Sturgis, Mississippi. He was a retired machinest with Hershedee Manufacturing and during World War II, he served in the United States Army. Mr. Trice is survived by one daughter, Brenda Sue Woods and husband, James, of Greenville, Mississippi; three sons, William H. Trice and wife, Katie, of Maben, Mississippi, Stevon Trice and wife, Ann, of Mathiston, Mississippi, and Walter Trice, Jr., of Coffeeville, Mississippi; one sister, Neva McIntosh of Mobile, Alabama; one brother, Dero Trice of Starkville, Mississippi; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Ruth Trice and three grandchildren, Shay Sloan, William Kevin Sloan, and Kayla Nicole Chrest. Mrs. Easley was born June 14, 1913, the daughter of Ida Pearl Hill and John Clyde McGahey. She and her husband owned and operated Easley’s Grocery for many years. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Easley, and a son, Bobby Frank Easley. She is survived by her daughter, Yvette Daffron of McKenzie, TN; a son, Jerry Easley of Louisville, MS; a daughter-in-law, Faye Easley of Louisville; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Jacob Wayne Nowell

Mr. Jacob Wayne Nowell, 31, died Monday, April 4th, in Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 8th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Haggard officiating. Interment will be in East County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Nowell was born December 22, 1979. He was a resident of Starkville, where he had worked as a laser cutter in the sheet metal industry. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Jennifer and Johnny Lindsey of Sturgis, MS; a son, Luke Wayne Nowell of Starkville; his grandmother, Iora S. Lavergne of Sturgis, MS; a brother, Joseph Therel Nowell of Collinsville, MS; a sister, Rachel Nowell Stephens of Starkville, MS, step-sister, Shawna Lindsey of Montgomery, AL, and 4 nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Wayne Nowell; paternal grandparents, Therel and Adelaide Nowell, and maternal grandfather, Hillman Lavergne. He greeted all those he met with an infectious smile and had a joy for living. He was happiest when spending time with his beautiful son Luke. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Ms. Terri Hudspeth, 49, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Crystal Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Crystal Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Born August 16, 1961, Ms. Hudspeth was a teacher and was of the Baptist faith. She graduated from West Point High School in May, 1979. She then attended Mississippi State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982. Later she attended Nichols State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, where she received her Master’s degree in 1987. Also in 1987, Ms. Hudspeth was named as an Outstanding Young American in Louisiana. She taught and worked with Special Children for 24 years. She was a great teacher but she was more than that. She fed these children when they came to school hungry and she took them home when they had no way home after school. She was completely dedicated to them. Ms. Hudspeth is survived by her parents, Doc and Minnie Hudspeth of Louisville, Mississippi; one brother, Richard Hudspeth and wife, Jennifer, of Madison, Mississippi; two nephews, Will and Ethan Hudspeth; two nieces, Sara and Bonnie Hudspeth; seven aunts; two uncles; and a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie J. and Bytha Flake and Olen and Bessie Hudspeth as well as her uncle, George Flake.
