Janith “Jan” May McIntyre

Janith “Jan” May McIntyre, 85, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, with her loving family at her side. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Burks officiating. Visitation was the day of the service from 12 noon until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater, Mississippi.
Jan was born March 31, 1938, to Arthur Woodrow and Mavis Parker May. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Jan enjoyed cooking, gardening, and quilting but most of all, she dearly loved her family. She worked at Angelica Pants Factory as a seamstress.

Jan is survived by her children: Ann Smith and husband, Mitch, of Tupelo, Mississippi; Stephanie Bradford of Noxapater; and Ken McIntyre of Canton, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny or Gerber” to her six grandchildren: Kristy Jones, Ryan McIntyre, Cindy (Robert) Thornton, Coty (Brittany) Burton, Colton Raines, and Kinley Raines; as well as her five great-grandchildren: Haley Jones, Lexi Burton, Bentley Burton, Laney Burton, and Vela Burton. She also leaves behind her brother, Royce Watkins and wife, Dorothy, of Noxapater; as well as loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Mac “Sammy” McIntyre; her parents; and her brother, Windol Maye.

Serving as pallbearers Coty Burton, Colton Raines, Gaylon Raines, Mitch Smith, Robert Thornton, and Dwayne Watkins.
