Sherry was born September 26, 1956, to Norman “Bully” and Hilda Worrell Dempsey in Winston County. She was a member of Welcome Chapel Jesus Name Church and was a retired flatbed truck driver for Chad Turner. Sherry enjoyed boating on the lake with Greg, watching football games, and taking short day trips around the state. She also dearly loved her dog, Max, whom she referred to as “Robin’s little brother”. Max was always there to help her overcome difficult times especially during the last couple of years.
Sherry is survived by her husband Greg Brown of Louisville; and her children: Robin Barnett of Rome, Georgia; Kelly (Jake) Thompson of Louisville; Dana Brown of Starkville, Mississippi; Fran Barnett (Bonin) Rodrigue of Houma, Louisiana; Bennon (Lori) Schuler of Jackson, Mississippi; and Shea (Allison) Schuler of Kosciusko, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Mamaw” to her nine grandchildren. Sherry is preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters Mavis Alexander and Norma Howard.
Serving as pallbearers are Robin Barnett, Kaden Barnett, Jimmy Alexander, Toby Alexander, Derrick Goldben, and Hugh Johnson. Memorials in honor of Sherry may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
