Scarlet was born in Winston County on January 18, 1968, to Charles Malcolm and Mary Jane Donald Clark. She grew up in the Flower Ridge community and was a lifelong member of Flower Ridge United Methodist Church where she served as pianist and organist for a number of years. Scarlet and Bro. Steve Casteel organized the annual Christmas Nativity drive-through at Flower Ridge which continues more than 30 years later.

At the age of 36, she answered the call of the Lord on her life. She served as the minister to the Maben/LaGrange charge and the Ackerman /South Union charge. Scarlet was a faithful, creative, kind, compassionate, musically talented servant of the Lord who delighted in encouraging and uplifting everyone around her. In addition, she loved writing; reading poetry; decorating for each season and holiday; and planning parties and events that brought people together.

Scarlet is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Tim Shepperd; children Rebekah Daniel and husband Quinn of Philadelphia, Mississippi; Taylor Johns and husband Josh; and son Jonathan Crocker all of Louisville. She is also survived by her parents and her sister Beth Woodcock and husband Jason of Clinton, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Gigi” to her four grandchildren: Peyton Daniel, Kase Daniel, Scarlett Daniel, and Everly Johns. Scarlet loved her pets, especially her beloved family pet, Heidi. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jack and Agnes Clark and Bill and Willie Donald.

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Humphries, Mike Prisock, Jason Sanders, Ken Sanders, Mike Stanton, and Steve Woodruff. Memorials contributions in honor of Scarlet may be given to Flower Ridge United Methodist Church, c/o Beth Hemphill, 820 Estes Switch Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
