He was born on August 26th, 1930, in Maben, MS. He was the 4th of 10 children of the late Kenchen Elgin and Martha Lou Mullen. He was raised with lots of laughter and mischief, most of it caused by him. After attending junior college, he pledged service to his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps, then later served on the police force, and U.S. Forestry Service. He married Patsy Jean Canterberry on September 14th, 1953. They had two children, Clifford Edgar Mullenand Patty Gaye Wood.

Moon was a man of great faith and resilience. Well known for his teasing nature, we often never knew if he was telling the truth or another tall tale. He brought joy and laughter to everyone he knew, and will be remembered for his humor and compassionate generosity. He never met a stranger and always left them with a smile.

Marzene is survived by his daughter in law, Julie Woodyard Mullen; 3 grandchildren: Katelyn (Joey) Cardenas; Camille (Austin) Miner; Benjamin (Ashlyn) Mullen, all of Houston, TX. He leaves a legacy of five great grandchildren: Elizabeth Cardenas, Ledger and Lawson Miner, Audrey Suarez, and Westin Edgar Mullen, who will carry on the Mullen name. He is further survived by six siblings (Karl Mullen, Early Mullen, Bonita Roberts, Twyman Mullen, Hampton Mullen, and Carolyn Faye Roberts, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy, children, Cliff and Patty Gaye, and siblings Lucille Schaefer, Aragene Gammill, and Kelton Mullen. Moon always said, "I ready!" and we take comfort knowing he was "ready" to be joyfully reunited with his Maker, wife, son, and daughter. He was laid to rest at Enon Cemetery in Ackerman, MS.

Donations may be made in his name to the Ackerman Baptist Family Life Center or French Camp Academy.
