Melba was born in Winston County on April 25, 1933 to Davis Garland Metts and Florence Wood Metts. Melba was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville. She loved working in her yard and was honored to previously receive the Yard of the Month Award.
Melba is survived by her daughter, Brenda McAdory and husband, Buster, of Louisville; her son, Jay Pearson and wife, Patti, of Oxford, Mississippi; and her sister, Mitzi Taylor also of Louisville. Also left to mourn her passing is numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. One of her greatest joys was being “Maw Pierce” to her three grandchildren: Brad McAdory, Erica Krag and husband, Kyle; and Paxton Pearson; as well as to two great-grandchildren: Nathan and Victoria McAdory. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Metts; and her sister, Joyce Sullivan.
Serving as pallbearers are Richard Ballard, Matthew Ktsanas, Nathan McAdory, Paxton Pearson, Larry Peavy, Lex Taylor and Robert Taylor.
