Vera was born April 8, 1927, to William Lee Black and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Massey Black. She worked as a beautician for 55 years, where she met many wonderful and interesting people. She also loved flowers, all people, playing games, and gardening. As a member of Flowood Baptist Church, she greatly loved the Lord first of all and her family. After her passing, her granddaughter, Sherdonna, wrote: “She and I were very close and we had several conversations about her passing away. This pretty much sums up her thoughts. God wanted me now so He has brought me home. Don’t lengthen your heavy hearts with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share in my joy. Mom and I were with her when she passed away; a couple of hours before she passed away she was smiling and laughing in her sleep. Her heart was joyous. Let us all find comfort in knowing that she’s more alive now than she’s ever been.”
Ms. Eubanks is survived by her daughter, Sharon Chevalier Williams of Flowood, Mississippi; and three step-children: Barbara Warner and husband, Burr, of Louisville; Teresa Jo Chase and husband, Frank, of Brandon, Mississippi; and Herbert M.
