Ms. Hurt was born June 22, 1927, to Robert L. and Annie Mae Ingram Carr. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville. She retired from the Atlas Envelope Company but also enjoyed working with Senior Citizens and in Hotel Management.
Ms. Hurt is survived by her daughter, Delphia Sanders of Sumrall, Mississippi; two sons, Mickey Hurt and wife, Cindy; and Gary Hurt and his wife, Luvith, both of Hattiesburg. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother to her nine grandchildren: Dylan Sanders and wife, Alicia; Stephanie Hollomon and husband, Joseph; Luke Hurt and wife, Leigh; Kristy Brown and husband, Mark; Matt Hurt and wife, Dani; Taylor Marie Hurt; Vivian Hurt; Melissa Springfield; and Courtney Germany. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her ten siblings: Maggie Crowell, Emmette Carr, J. E. Carr, George Carr, Therrell Carr, Mildred Carr McLeod, Mable Hurt Herrington, Harold Carr, Miron Carr Hill, and Margaret Carr Rogers.
