Mr. Ethredge, 94, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at his daughter’s residence.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and served in the U. S. Marine Corp during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. After returning home he worked for Cole Brothers, Sturgis Company, Mars Brothers, and then worked for U. S. Motors in Philadelphia until his retirement. Mr. Ethredge was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Philadelphia, loved Gospel music, and served as music director in several local churches.

Survivors include his daughter, June Richardson and son-in-law Bruce Richardson of Preston; four grandchildren, Shanna Lowrey, Suzanne White and husband Paul, Krista Barrier and husband Shannon, and Jason Richardson and wife Lynnie; 10 great-grandchildren, Scott Lowrey and wife Heidi; Anna Lowrey, Macy Elliott and husband Logan, Cheyanne White, Jaden White, Logan Barrier, Hunter Barrier, Julie Richardson, Jacob Richardson, and Connor Richardson; one great-great grandson, Barrier Lowrey; one brother, Bob Ethredge; two sisters-in-law, Jean Ethredge and Bernestine Ethredge of Philadelphia; four nieces and four nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ethredge was preceded in death by his wife, Amye Burkes Ethredge; parents, Gene and Gertrude Ethredge; and brothers, Mike Ethredge, Charles Ethredge and Kenneth Ethredge.

Pallbearers will be Jason Richardson, Scott Lowrey, Shannon Barrier, Michael Johnson, Ronnie Asbill and Stan Ethredge.
