Eddie Ray Miley

Eddie Ray Miley, 88, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi.  Visitation will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2015, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Newlie Long officiating.  Following Masonic rites, interment will follow in the Masonic Cemetery.

Mr. Miley was born January 18, 1927, to Harvey and Lillian Story Miley.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville; a Mason; a member of the Eastern Star; and a Shriner.  He was an engineer and retired from Southern Natural Gas.

Eddie is survived by three daughters, Mary Emily Gershwin and husband, Danny, of Tucker, Georgia; Pamela Miley of Memphis, Tennessee; and Frances Miley of Cordova, Tennessee.  Mr. Miley was also survived by two sisters, Emily Slay and Betty Higgins both of Mendenhall, Mississippi; and his brother, Harvey Magee and wife, Debbie, of Brookhaven, Mississippi.  He has three “granddogs”, Bailey; Fergus; and Archie.  Mr. Miley was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Johnson Miley; his parents; three brothers, Wesley Miley; Wayne Miley; and Wade Miley; and three sisters, Eula Little; Carrie Curry; and Virgie Magee.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Fulton, Paul Gwin, Jim Johnson, and James Slay.  Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church of Louisville.  Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Louisville, P. O. Box 547, Louisville, MS 39339 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
