Noble Rural Dempsey, 73, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stacey Parvin officiating. Interment will follow in Whitehall United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Stokes officiating.
Noble was born on June 21, 1941, to Rural and Katie Lou Cockrell Dempsey. He was a member of Whitehall United Methodist Church. He retired after working 42 years at Taylor Machine Works in management.
Mr. Dempsey is survived by his wife of 53 years, Grace Dempsey; and two sons, Mark Dempsey and wife, Tabby; and Jason Dempsey and wife, Christy, all of Louisville. He was “Pawpaw” to six grandchildren: Amy Dempsey, Matt Dempsey, Brock Ward, Michael Dempsey, Megan Dempsey, and Ian Dempsey; and he had one great-granddaughter, Marilyn Speights. Mr. Dempsey is also survived by his sister, Sara Dempsey Brown and husband, Bud, also of Louisville. He is preceded in death by his son, John Dempsey; brothers, Billy Ray “Jim” Dempsey and David Dempsey; and his parents.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Brown, Tripp Brown, Dwight Dempsey, Matt Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, Jeffrey Eubanks, Daniel Moore, and Brock Ward. Honorary pallbearer will be Ian Dempsey.
