Louise Pearson Allen



On March 5, 2014, Evelyn Louise Pearson Allen went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 85. Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Porter Funeral Home, Louisville, MS from 5-7. A celebration of her life and funeral service will be held from Porter Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2014, with Reverend Mike Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge United Methodist cemetery off Highway 14, west of Louisville, MS. Reverend Leslie F. (Bo) Mills will conduct the grave services.
 Louise was born ninth of eleven children to the late Myrtis Black Pearson and Grover Jackson Pearson on November 18, 1928. She was a lifelong resident of Winston County, MS. She graduated high school, where she was valedictorian of her class and excelled as a basketball athlete. She enjoyed good health, worked hard on the family farm, and later retired from Spartus Corporation. Most of all, she was a devout Christian who worked hard in her church, teaching, and witnessing her love of Jesus Christ. She never missed a chance to witness to others about Jesus’ love for them. She maintained a servant’s attitude and a genuine willingness to help others. Louise was known for her great cooking, especially her homemade yeast rolls, fried chicken, and caramel cakes. She loved cooking for her family and friends. You didn’t want to miss Sunday lunches at the Allen residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and sisters, and one grandson, Robert Brian Allen. She is survived by the love of her life for 66 years, Hayes Allen, four sons, Robert (Yulanda), Delver (Marie), Billy (Zenita), all of Louisville, and Tim (Becky), Coppell, TX. and seven grandchildren, Chas (Renee), Joe (Kenna), Derek, Kaci McDill (Kyle), Ben (Angela), Hannah, and Natalie, plus five great-grandchildren, Emily, Nathan, Jesse, Clara Grace, and Easton. She is also survived by one brother, Thad (Doris), Florence, MS and one sister, Bonnie Sloan, of Louisville. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons: Derek Allen, Joe Allen, Nathan Allen, Chas Allen, Jesse Allen, and Ben Allen In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Louise Allen to the Center Ridge United Methodist Church HWY 14 West, Louisville, MS 39339.
