Annie L. Burt

Mrs. Annie L. Burt, 74, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi.  Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.  Funeral services will be held at
11:00 a.m. in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating.  Interment will follow in Flower Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.    
                                                                                                     Mrs. Burt was born on August 23, 1938, to Oscar and Frankie Lee Brooks Trippe.  She was an avid cook who trained in restaurant management in the Gulf Coast and New Orleans areas.  She wrote and published a successful cookbook “Annie’s Country and Cajun Creations.”  She is survived by her husband, Hughes A. Burt of Louisville; her son, Oscar Andrew Hanson of Florida; and her step-son, Michael H. Burt of Mobile, Alabama. She is also survived by her sister, Jo Trippe Tyler of Covington,Louisiana; and by her granddaughter, Libby Jo Parsons.  Mrs. Burt is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Wilbur “Buddy” Trippe and Danny Frank Trippe.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Burt, Tim Burt, Ervin Burt, Bob Paty, and Bo Mills.  Memorials may be given to Flower Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Lynda Reed, 1841 Enon Road, Louisville, MS 39339. Arrangements are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 N.
