Otera Bennett Haggard, 88, of Columbus, MS, died Friday, August 17, 2012, in Birmingham, AL. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, August 20th, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until service time at Porter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Haggard was born October 13, 1923, in Louisville, MS. She was a graduate of Louisville High School and MSCW. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus and an active member of Columbus Junior Auxillary for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Jaynn Haggard Kushner (Harold); grandchildren, Gaije Kushner and Caith Kushner (Anna); and great granddaughter, Amalia Kushner.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Nowell Haggard; and her parents, Era Bowie and Wilbur Kurt Bennett.
