Ms. Parker, 91, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at J.G. Alexander Nursing Home in Union, MS. She was born in Winston County but has lived the past 25 years in Neshoba County. Before retiring, she was a nurse and worked at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN. Ms. Parker was Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Shields McLeod, Jessie Mildred Hickman McLeod;
Daughter, Sheila Kay Weaver; Sons, Donald Paul Parker, Johnny Wayne Parker, Michael Lamar Parker; Sisters, Mazie Woods, Lorena Hunt; Brothers, Robert McLeod, Dan McLeod, Tom McLeod, Jim McLeod; Granddaughter, Regina Davenport.

Survivors include, Daughter, Catherine Ann Skaggs (Ronald) of Kentucky; Sons, Robert Eugene Parker of Philadelphia, MS; Daughter-in-law, Faye Parker of TN; Son-in-law, Ronnie Davenport of TN; Sister-in-law, Barbara McLeod of TN; (8) Grandchildren, several Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert L. Miller will be held Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2 PM at Union Chapel M.B.C. Mae West Miller

Frances Bouchillon Jackson

Frances Bouchillon Jackson, 95, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 2, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Wells and Rev. James Mills officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sturgis. 

Frances was born August 4, 1923, to Cabe and Belle Robertson Bouchillon. She was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church.

Frances is survived by her daughter Susie Butler and husband Howard of Sturgis, Mississippi; and her brother Bill Bouchillon and wife Pat of Macon, Georgia. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandmother” to her grandson Brandon Butler and wife Sarah of Mendenhall, Mississippi; and her great-grandchildren: Abby Grace, Alex and Roma. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Alexander “Boose” Jackson; her parents; her brother Willard Bouchillon and her sister Ruth Crowson.

David Jowers

David Jowers, 71, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, Mississippi. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be Friday, November 30 at 11:30 a.m. at Selmore Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow the service in Selmore Cemetery. 

David was born November 10, 1947, to William and Ludie Mae Slawson Jowers. He was a 1965 graduate of Nanih Waiya; he then attended East Central Junior College and graduated as a licensed electrician. He worked as an electrician in both residential and commercial fields. David was a quiet, gentle Christian man who served as a deacon at both Faithview Baptist Church in Raymond, Mississippi, and Selmore Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri. He presently attended Wess Chapel Baptist Church in Louisville. In 1987, David married Brenda Kay Jones instantly becoming a father to two sons, James and B. J. Jones. They moved to Ozark, Missouri, in 1991 and resided there until retiring and returning to Louisville in 2012.

David is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Brenda Jowers of Louisville; his sons James Jones and wife Jovelyn of Byram, Mississippi; and B. J. Jones of Bruner, Missouri. He is also survived by two sisters Joyce Sykes of Louisville; and Martha Jacobson of Ocala, Florida; as well as two sisters-in-law Gladys Jowers of Louisville; and Leila Jowers of Glen Allen, Virginia. One of his greatest joys was his four grandchildren: James (Skylar) Jones III; Robert Jones; Joseph Jones; and Hunter Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: John, Curtis, Warren, and Charles Alton Jowers; and his sister Jewell Ricks.

Memorial contributions in honor of David may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

Mr. Sellie Miller, 76, of Weir, Mississippi, passed on Monday, November 19, 2018, at the Diversicare Nursing Home, Eupora, Mississippi. Mary Alice Woodruff

Mrs. Mary Alice Lloyd Woodruff, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday night November 21, 2018, at her home on Henry Allman Road. She was the widow of Woodrow Wilson Woodruff and the daughter of the late Champion and Tommie Eudora Tomlinson Lloyd all of Louisville. She was also preceded in death by her sister Edna Durance of Florida and brother Sherrill Lloyd of Clinton, Mississippi.

Mrs. Woodruff is survived by her three sons, Bobby Jack (Barbara) of Guyton, Georgia, Franklin (Frances) of Louisville and Terry Lee (Karen) of Ojai, California. She was the grandmother of seven grandchildren Lin (Trudy) of Louisville, Marc (Callie) of Louisville, Beth Hemphill (Jason) of Louisville, Charles (Yvonne) of Camarillo, California, David (Jennifer) of Newberry Park, California, Todd (Stephanie) of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Stephanie Mikell (Britt) of North Augusta, South Carolina. Her eleven great grand grandchildren Katie Shotts (Jay), Nathan and John Hemphill, Andrew and Richard Woodruff all of Louisville, Emily, Jake, and Hailey Woodruff, of Camarillo, California, Ashlyn Mikell of North Augusta, South Carolina , and Olivia and Madelyn Woodruff of Richmond Hill, Georgia.

She also leaves her sister Iona Ray of Louisville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Woodruff and her husband and sons operated a Grade C and Grade A Dairy farm in the Estes Community. Mr. Woodruff was recognized as the Dairy Farmer of the Year in 1962, but it was definitely a family affair as she and their sons worked closely with him. She also worked at the Louisville Pants Factory and was a beautician.

She loved gardening and growing flowers. Her grandchildren thought she was the best cook in the county and passed this and the love of the land on to her sons and grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Porter Funeral Home on Saturday night, November 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 pm.and the funeral service will be at Flower Ridge United Methodist Church on Sunday November 25, at 2 p.m.

The Reverend Keith Williams and Reverend Michael Wells will be in charge of the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pall bearers are her grandsons and grandsons in law Lin Woodruff, Nathan Hemphill, Andrew Woodruff, Richard Woodruff, Jay Shotts, Jason Hemphill, Todd Woodruff and Britt Mikell.

Johnny Davis Sullivan

Johnny Davis Sullivan, 68, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at The Oak Cottage at the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12 noon until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Ellison Ridge Cemetery.

Johnny was born August 31, 1950, to J. C. and Ruby Palmer Sullivan. He was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. During his high school career at Nanih Waiya, he was a pole vaulting champion. Johnny was an avid Ole Miss fan and he dearly loved his kids and grandkids.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Shari Whitehead Sullivan of Louisville; his daughters Holly Wilkes and husband Justin of Louisville; C. Jae Sullivan Warren of New Hope, Mississippi; and three sons Shane Sullivan of Louisville; Lance Sullivan and wife Denise of Bruce, Mississippi; and Cody Preston of Memphis, Tennessee. He is also survived by two sisters Bonnie Burkes and Judy Rogers (Roy); and his brother Jakie Sullivan (Susan). One of his greatest joys was being “Gramps” to his six grandchildren: Destiny Sullivan, Elijah Wilkes, Jodie Wilkes, Zander Warren, Cheyenne Warren, and Zane Wilkes. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jacklyn Brooke Sullivan; granddaughter Jaicee Brooke Warren, his parents; and two sisters Mary Lou Conn and Donnie Sue Dempsey.

Minnie L. Robinson, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2018, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Paul Fox

Paulette “Paul” Fox, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2018, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Paul was born December 27, 1944, to Harvey and Florence Wright Fox. He was a member of Indian Springs Assembly of God Church and was a retired truck driver.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Sondra LaDawn Fox and husband Danny Hughes of Brandon, Mississippi; son Paul Dewayne Fox of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister, Gayle Hailey and husband Tony of Preston, Mississippi; and his brother Shelton Fox and wife Adelinn of Amory, Mississippi. He is also survived by his grandson, Chance Fox and wife Maria; and his extended family, Bobbie Burks Fox, Pamela Sullivan, and Paula Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Chance Fox, Marcus Fox, Danny Hughes, Jason Pugh, Lucas Daniel Williams, and Mark Dean Wright.

Bruce Mitchell

Bruce Mitchell of Louisville, Mississippi, a remarkable and greatly beloved man, died peacefully in his sleep at age 91, surrounded by his loving family in the house he built many years ago on Highway 25 South in Winston County.

Sandra Jones Mayo

Sandra Jones Mayo, 78, of Oxford, Mississippi, died on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at her home. Ms. Mayo donated her body to the Genesis Legacy Whole Body Donation Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee, for medical education and research.

Ruth Ewing Smith

Ruth Ewing Smith, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be Monday, November 19, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville; as well as one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Childs and Rev. Stacy Parvin officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Eden Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Ruth was born in Noxubee County on September 23, 1932, to Frank and Thelma Thomasson Ewing. She was a member of Beth Eden Lutheran Church. Ruth enjoyed any outside activities, especially when she was outside helping her husband as he worked; and she enjoyed gardening. She loved animals, especially her dogs.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Jeanette Mills and husband Ernie of Louisville. She is also survived by her sister Sara Butler (O’Neill) of Dumas, Mississippi; brother Ellis Ewing (Geri) of Johnson City, Tennessee; sister-in-law Frances Ewing; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Smith; her parents; and her brother Bobby Ewing.

Serving as pallbearers are Thomas E. Clark, Mike Coleman, Vince Ewing, Randall Livingston, Ray Smith, and Wade Mills. Memorials contributions in honor of Ruth may be given to Beth Eden Cemetery Fund, c/o Shirley Livingston, 40 Livingston Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
