Roger T. Kirk

Roger T. Kirk, 86, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021, at his home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 18 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Kelsey officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Roger was born August 6, 1934, to Alvin Earl and Enid Claire Schooler Kirk in Winston County, Mississippi. He was of the Baptist faith. Roger retired from Taylor Machine Works after working 24 years as a machinist. He answered the call of his country by serving six years in the United States Army.

Roger is survived by his wife of 61 years Gloria Kirk, his daughter Peggy Pearson both of Louisville, and his son Phillip Kirk and wife Lena of Cedar Hills, Texas. He is also survived by his siblings: Kathryn Kirk, Lavada (Bobby) Robertson, Earl Kirk, and Sam (Barbara) Kirk. One of his greatest joys was being “Grandpaw” to his two grandchildren Dana Pearson (Richard Cagle) and Paul Pearson (Kayla Colbert) and his five great-grandchildren: Noah and Nikki Reed, Caleb Pearson, and Mia and Zoe Cagle. He also leaves behind his niece Julie Kirk and nephew Edward Kirk. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Alvin Ralph Kirk, his sister Lola Kirk, and two sisters-in-law Sally and Betty Kirk.

Serving as pallbearers are Paul Pearson, Sr., Paul Pearson, Jr., Richard Cagle, and Noah Reed.

Marilyn McKinley

Marilyn McKinley, 67, of Louisville, MS., passed on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Louisville Health Care Center, Louisville, MS. A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date by the Family. 

Marilyn was born February 5, 1954, to the Parents of Ozie McKinley and Pinkie Lockett.

Robert Dewitt Spiva

Robert Dewitt Spiva, 89, of Noxapater, MS., passed on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the University Medical Center, Jackson, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 11 a.m., from Beck Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Hopewell U. M. Church Cemetery, Louisville, MS. Mr. Spiva was born October 25, 1931, to the parents of Theodore Spiva and Willie L. Davis, in Winston County Mississippi. 

He is survived by; four daughters, Florice Norwood(Roger) of Byram, MS., Velma Bright, Cynthia Kelly and Katrina Spiva; two sons, Robert Spiva, Jr., (Angela) and Shaun Spiva(Consuela) both of Jackson, MS; one sister, Ruth Thompson of Rochester, NY.; two brothers, John Daniels Spiva of Rochester, NY., and James Howard Spiva(Emma) of Jackson, MS. Walter James Eiland

Walter James Eiland, 68, of Louisville, MS., passed on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Louisville Health Care Center, Louisville, MS. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 1 p.m., from Beck Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4 until 6 p.m., from the Funeral Home. Mr. Eiland, was born Nov. 19, 1952, in Winston County Mississippi to the parents of Ernest Eiland and Jessie Christine Liddell.

Eva Clark

Mrs. Eva Hughey Clark, 76, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Dogwood Cottage at Winston County Nursing Home. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 14th, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clark was born October 7, 1944, in Ripley, MS. She graduated from Port Gibson High School and cosmetology school in Vicksburg, MS. She and Ralph moved to Louisville in 1967, and Eva worked as a cosmetologist for many years. She was a member of First Methodist Church. Eva was devoted to her family, and was a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Luther Hughey; and a brother, Victor Hughey.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ralph Clark; a daughter, Kristie Clark Day of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Ima Tivnan of Ripley, MS, and Grape Cain of Port Gibson, MS; a brother, James Hughey of Nashville, TN; and two grandchildren, Ethan Day and Summer Day.

Pallbearers will be Danny Wright, Jamie Cain, Ryan Strawbridge, Victor Rushing, Taylor Rushing, and Colby Rushing.

Sarah T. Stephenson

Sarah T. Stephenson, 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Choctaw County Nursing Center in Ackerman, MS. Sarah was born August 16, 1935, in Calhoun County, MS, to Fate and Minnie(Clark) Taylor. She was a retired business owner in Ackerman, MS.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at Ackerman Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery in Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon till service time at the church.

Sarah is survived by 2 sons, Andy(Emmy) Stephenson of Ackerman, MS, Hugh Stephenson, and his fiancé Tracy, of Bossier City, LA; 1 brother, Carl Taylor of Copperas Cove, TX; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

MaeLeighh Reign Hall

MaeLeighh Reign Hall was born and went directly into the arms of heavenly angels on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Born at 37 weeks, she weighed 5 pounds 1.8 ounces and was 19 inches long. Although MaeLeighh never spent any time with us on earth, she was very loved. Our little angel will never be forgotten.

Graveside service will be held June 8, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Ellison Ridge Church Cemetery.

Joseph Craig Campbell

Joseph Craig Campbell, 57, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, in Montgomery County, MS. Craig was born October 25, 1963, in Choctaw County, MS, to Albert Leon and Betty(Simpson) Campbell. He was employed by Choctaw County as a Beat 3 maintenance employee.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at New Haven Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the New Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. till service time at the church.

Craig is survived by his mother, Betty Lou Campbell of Weir, MS; 1 daughter, Macie Claire McDade of Ackerman, MS; 3 brothers, Donald Campbell, Bill Campbell, Albert Edward Campbell, all of Weir, MS; and 1 niece, Bridgette York.

Craig is preceded in death by his father, Albert Leon Campbell.

Caleb Florian Johnson

Caleb Florian Johnson was born and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, May 24, 2021, in the arms of his parents surrounded by comfort and love. Although he did not open his eyes on earth, it is a great comfort to know that when his eyes opened for the first time, he saw his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Taylor Yarbrough officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Shiloh Cemetery.

Caleb is survived by his loving parents Sarah Kietzman Johnson and Dr. Scotty Johnson of Hiram, Georgia. Also, Caleb is survived by his grandparents David and Debra Kietzman of Hixson, Tennessee, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Doye Cecile Johnson (October 9, 1939-August 9, 2012) and Chesley Florian Johnson (March 29, 1935-June 16, 2007).

Norma Algood

Norma Sullivan Algood, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Dogwood Cottage at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9 at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Gross officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service at Good Hope Cemetery.

Norma was born May 9, 1940, to Marsie Richardson Sullivan and Tilton P. Sullivan, Sr., in Washington County, Mississippi. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She worked for many years at both Spartus Corporation and T. R. W. but her first priority was being mother to her two children, Wallace and Wanda Hatcher. Norma was a devoted caregiver to both of her children as long as she was physically able. She enjoyed singing and gardening but most of her time was spent with her children. Even though her life wasn’t always easy, she remained tenacious and a Christian woman.

Norma is survived by her daughter Wanda Hatcher of Louisville. She is also survived by her siblings: Darlene McCaffrey of Spring, Texas, T. P. Sullivan, Jr. and wife Betty of Louisville, Demetrius Hardy of Preston, Mississippi, Johnnye McMillan of Louisville, Paul David Sullivan and wife Patsy of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Rebecca Bush and husband Thomas, and Timothy Sullivan and wife Cathy all of Louisville. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Algood, her son Wallace Hatcher, her parents, her brother Euvern Sullivan, and three sisters: Dorothy Walker, Delaine Robbins, and Danyce McArthur.

Serving as pallbearers are Marcus Sullivan, Ricky Hardy, Steven McMillan, Christopher Bush, David Sullivan, and Brad Sullivan. Marshall Hancock

Marshall Hancock, 54, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021, in St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Private funeral services and interment will be 6 p.m. Sunday, June 6 in Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Dewayne Kelsey officiating.

Marshall was born March 27, 1967, to Charles W. and Patsy Newton Hancock in Chicago, Illinois. He was self-employed in the Retail Business.

Marshall is survived by his son Isaiah Edmondson, his brother Roger W. Hancock, as well as his niece and nephews: Charles Fulton, Krystal Fulton, and Aydon Hancock. He also leaves behind a special friend, Tonya Tims. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Charles Hancock.

Billy Joe “B. J.” Ray

Billy Joe “B. J.” Ray, 83, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the Baptist Medical Center - Attala in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6 at Hinze Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service in Hinze Baptist Church Cemetery.

B. J. was born February 23, 1938, to Cyrus Leach and Georgia Hinze Ray in Winston County, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Lobutcha High School and Mississippi State Trooper school. B. J. faithfully served the residents of Mississippi as a State Trooper for 34 years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening especially growing watermelons.

B. J. is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Bobbie Nell Ray and three sons: Joseph Ray and wife Evy-An of Flora, Mississippi, Marcus B. Ray of Hinze Community, and Scott Ray and wife Anna of Folsom, Louisiana. One of his greatest joys was being “PaPaw” to his five grandchildren: Chandler Ray, Lauren (Jarrett) Keith, Logan Ray, Dylan Ray, and Alyssa Ray as well as one great-granddaughter Willia-Kayte Keith. B. J. is also survived by his brother Garland Ray and his sister-in-law Iona Ray. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: William “Cleo” Ray, Wallace Ray, Jewelene Shumaker, and Hinze Ray.

Ruth Pearson

Graveside services and interment for Sybil Ruth Pearson will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 6th at Whitehall Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Rob Faulk and Rev. Lawrence Poole officiating. Sybil Ruth Pearson was born on March 9, 1943 in Somerville, TN to Mary Bell Taylor Henry and Joseph Calvin Henry. She married Clovis Lloyd Pearson at the age 32 on April 19, 1975. They were blissfully married for 24 years. She lived a full life as a wife, mother, private health caregiver and an employee of TRW. She departed this life on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brothers, Lloyd David Henry, Franklin Eugene Henry, Harry Hughon Roberson (Mary Francis), and James Archie Henry.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Lynn Fioramonti (Scottie) and Carol Pearson one sister, Christine Perkins (Gary); one brother, Floyd Henry; two sisters-in-law, Ann Henry and Carol Henry; three grandchildren, Brittany Jones (Zach), Brett Fioramonti (Brandi), and Bailey Pearson; three great-grandchildren, Aubree Pearson, Emmory Pearson, and Elijah Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Larry "Snapper" Gregory

 Mr. David Larry “Snapper” Gregory, 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 5th, at Harmony Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Lundy and Rev. Chris Vowell officiating. Interment will be in Harmony Baptist Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

“Snapper” was born May 15, 1941, in Winston County, MS, to Curtis Alewine Gregory and David Hugh Gregory. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was a graduate of French Camp Academy, and he retired from Georgia Pacific where he was a shipping supervisor. Mr. Gregory served as a Justice Court Judge for 8 years in District 2, and East Post Constable for 4 years. “Snapper” proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He also spent some time working for Elvis Presley in Memphis, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Joyce Eubanks, Louise Gregory, and Fay Harville; one brother, John Gregory, and his brothers-in-law, Clyde Eubanks and Jay Harville.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Quinn Gregory of Louisville; his son, David Scott Gregory of Louisville; his granddaughter, Anna Faith Gregory of Louisville; his grandson, David Jace Perry Gregory of Louisville; one sister, Eleanor Gregory Fordyce of Byhalia, MS; one sister-in-law, Nancy Quinn of Louisville; and brother-in-law, Billy Quinn 0f Louisville.

Pallbearers will be Paul McKinney, Greg Davis, Chris Quinn, Tim Hunt, Chuck Quinn, Jacob Ingram, and Rusty Hanna.

Jacqueline Johnson

Jacqueline Johnson, 60, of McCool, Mississippi, passed on Friday, May 28, 2021, at her home. Graveside Service will be Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 11 a.m., from Mount Nebo United Methodist Church Cemetery, McCool, MS. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 until 6 p.m., from the Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Johnson was born May 20, 1961, to the Parents of Son Bridges and Earnesteen Johnson in Saint Louis, MO. 

She is survived by, Daughters; Jamesha Johnson and Kalesha Johnson both of McCool, MS., One Grandchild, Siblings; Rena Smith, Gwendolyn Coffey, Micheal Smith and Laura Gibbs all of McCool, MS., Larry Johnson(Helen), of Rochester, NY., and Carl Smith of Starkville, MS. Judy Eaves Moore

Judy Eaves Moore, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the Dogwood Cottage at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 4 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Ellison Ridge Cemetery.

Judy was born September 4, 1943, to Troy and Alice Clay Eaves in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville. She held various positions at different businesses but her longest tenure was bookkeeping and secretarial duties along with her husband in their construction business. Judy was faithful to read her Bible each day and she enjoyed shopping; but most of all her favorite activity was spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by her daughters Susan Moody and Shannon Holdiness both of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “MaMaw” to her six grandchildren: Christopher Moody, Dylan Moody, Katie Holdiness, Chelsea Holdiness, Kyle (Holley) Holdiness, and Lizzie Holdiness. Additionally, she also enjoyed her six great-grandchildren: Nich Holdiness, Luke Holdiness, Jacob Moody, Wesley Holdiness, Kylie Brooke Holdiness, and Harper Elaine Peterson. Judy is also survived by her brother Ray Tingle of New Orleans, Louisiana; her sister-in-law Rhonda Tingle, and special cousins Sarah Eaves, Cindy Ward and Shirley White, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Moody Moore, her parents, her brother Robbie Tingle, her aunt Doris Ward, and her son-in-law Woody Moody.

Serving as pallbearers are Wade Blaine, Robert “Chico” Holdiness, Jamie McMillan, Joseph “Bub” Miller, Johnny Sullivan, and Randy Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Clardy, Gary Hughes, Joe Johns, Wayne Moody, and E. L. Vowell.
