Ricki Thomas Prewitt
Ricki Thomas Prewitt, 69, a retired school music teacher and private piano instructor, passed away Saturday October 12, 2013 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Ms. Prewitt was born September 2, 1944 in Winona, MS. She taught numerous students in places such as Ackerman, MS, French Camp, MS, and Wood Jr. College, as well as, many private lessons in her home. Ms. Prewitt was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church near French Camp, MS, where she served as their ordained minister of music.

Mrs. Connie Ann Farish, 61, died Sunday, October 13, 2013, at her home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Rob Faulk officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Connie was born March 17, 1952. She was a cosmetologist, and a member of South Louisville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorman and Betty Marsh. She is survived by her husband, James David Farish of Louisville; two daughters, Robin Janson of Lake City, FL, and Jessica Lorraine Farish of Louisville; a son, Lee Janson of Navarre, FL, Timothy Paul Farish of Louisville, and James Matthew Farish of Birmingham, AL; and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Chuck McCullough, Josh McCullough, Scott Letteri, Timothy Farish, Casey Smith, and Gene Holbrook.

Mr. Larry Hugh Johnson, 49, died Thursday, October 10, 2013, Kemper County, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 15th, at Macedonia Baptist Church, with Rev. Hubert Yates officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John Wendell Carter, 79, died Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Mr. Carter was born July 24, 1934, in Winston County, MS. He retired after 22 years with the U. S. Air Force. He was also retired form Louisville Public School System as head of audiovisual and computer systems, and worked at Winston Medical Center as head of maintenance and the ambulance service. He was chairman of Deacons at Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Carter; his parents, Velna and Holder Carter; and a sister, Ercel Burks.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Webb Carter; a daughter, Angie (Ray) Hisaw of Louisville; two sons, Terry (Re-C) Carter of Louisville, and Ken (Julie) Carter of Madison, MS; 6 grandchildren, Rachael C. Bounds, Jade Gallagher, Becca Carter, John Mark Carter, Dylan Hisaw, and Ryan Smyth; and four great grandchildren, Hydie Grace Gallagher, Carter Gallagher, Bryson Gallagher, and Rivers Bounds.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Liberty Cemetery Fence Fund. Pallbearers will be Mike Perkins, Josh Bounds, John Mark Carter, Ray Hisaw, Dillon Hisaw, and Ryan Smyth. Granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Genia Lynne Hancock
Ms. Genia Lynne Hancock, age 52, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2013. Genia was a native of Louisville, MS and was a resident of Metairie, LA for 30 years. Beloved daughter of Emily Bradford Hancock Gregg and the late Lewis Eugene Hancock. Loved by Dennis Scandurro. Sister of Ada Emily Woodward (husband, Richard Woodward) and Brad Hancock (wife, Gina Rose Hancock). Aunt of Mitchell Kuykendall (wife, Tabitha Kuykendall) and Courtney Hancock. Genia was a member of Whitehall United Methodist Church in Louisville, MS and was a 1979 graduate of Louisville High School. Genia was known for her wisdom, perseverance and love for others. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cockrell; her parents, Rowena and E. Z. Crick; a sister, Jacqueline Atkinson; and a brother, Gid Crick.
She is survived by two daughters, Melisa (Roy Dale) Fulton of Louisville, and Melanie (Cecil) Price of Louisville; three sons, Wayne (Annette) Cockrell of Hastings, Nebraska, Joe (Daphne) Cockrell of Louisville, and Wendell (Mary Lena) Cockrell of Perry, GA; 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Y. Bane, 90, died Saturday, September 28, 2013 in her home of natural causes. Mrs. Bane was born on August 9, 1923 in Philadelphia, MS to Mary Elizabeth Fulton and James Monroe Young. She was a homemaker and also worked in retail management when she lived in Biloxi, MS. She was a Sunday school teacher and active member of Bay Vista Baptist Church in Biloxi, MS. She belonged to the Lions Club in Louisville, MS, and loved gardening. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Christian of Biloxi and Louisville, MS; her second husband, Lamar Bane of Louisville, MS; her son, James Christian of Biloxi, MS; her brothers, James Young of Tupelo, MS, Fulton Young of Greenwood, Ms, and Simon T. Young of Louisville, MS; her sister, Maureen Morgan of Louisville, MS. Mrs. Judy Gazaway, 58, died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Neshoba County General Hospital. Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept 28th from 5-8 pm at McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia. The funeral service will be on Sunday, Sept 29th at 2pm at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Skinner and Rev. Jack Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. She had formerly worked as office manager in medical equipment sales. Mrs. Gazaway was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Gazaway; daughter, Mandy Barfoot Guess and her husband, Brian; son, Marc Barfoot and his wife, Mitsy, all of Philadelphia and 12 grandchildren.

Susie Elizabeth Wilson Skelton, 92, died Sept. 23, 2013 in the Care Center of Louisville.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Webster County. Rev. Mike Childs will officiate.
While living in Webster County, Mrs. Skelton attended the Mantee Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Skelton was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Curtis Skelton.
Survivors include one daughter; Sue Skelton Latham of Louisville; one son William C. Skelton of Louisville; one sister, Irene Wilson Ital, of Gloster; four grandchildren: Curt Skelton, Casey Skelton, Matt Skelton and Mandy Husak; and four great grandchildren.
