Odie Wayne Prisock

Mr. Odie Wayne Prisock, 72, passed away on December 3, 2012, at his home in Madison, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, Mississippi. Visitation will also be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, from 12 p.m. until service time with funeral services being held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012, with Rev. Junior Davis and Dr. Eugene Dobbs officiating. Interment will be in Craig Springs Cemetery in Oktibbeha County.

Mr. Prisock was born on August 25, 1940, to Erskin and Velma Scarborough Prisock. He graduated from Starkville High School and was a member of the Mississippi National Guard for six years. Wayne was a home builder and land developer while living in Starkville and a member of the Home Builders Association in Starkville, serving as the first president of this organization. After moving to Madison, he became a member of the First Baptist Church of Madison and he was the owner of Prisock Company. Mr. Prisockwas a member of the Canton Lodge #28 F & AM Masonic Lodge and a Past Worthy Patron of Canton Chapter #58 OES. Wayne was a man of many talents and he loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Dane Ellis Prisock of Madison, Mississippi; his daughter, Stephanie Nix and husband, Rick, of Ridgeland, Mississippi; and his son, StephenPrisock and wife, Keiley, of Madison, Mississippi. Mr. Prisock is also survived by three grandchildren: Veronica Grace Prisock, Matthew Nix and Andrew Nix; his brother, PrudePrisock and wife, Margaret, of Starkville, Mississippi; and two nieces, Christy Prisockand Lynn Prisock. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Prisock, Parker Prisock, Presley Prisock, Randall Prisock, Ronnie Massey, Larry Massey, Brandon Prisock, and Clay Wood. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Paul Massey, Leon Merritt, J. D. Adcock, Joe Shurden, Jr., Ester Taylor, and Royce Faulkner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Craig Springs Cemetery Fund, c/o Ronnie Massey, 595 Massey Drive, Starkville, MS 39759 or to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 400, Madison, MS 39130-0040 or to the charity of your choice.

Willa Jean Prisock

Willa Jean Richardson Prisock, daughter of Ronald Earl and Laura Mae Richardson, was born on June 19, 1931. “Jean,” as she was called, passed away on December 1, 2012, in the Medical Center of Plano in Plano, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. There will also be visitation from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Beth Eden Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Beth Eden Church with Rev. Junior Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Beth EdenChurch Cemetery.

Mrs. Prisock was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, of the Eastern Star, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. Jean was raised in Beth Eden and Louisville where she was actively involved in activities at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She attended Blue Mountain College and traveled extensively with her husband, Frank, who served in the United States Navy.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter: John Ronald Prisock (Patsy) of Sturgis, Mississippi; Richard Dell Prisock (Debbie) of St. Eustatia, Netherlands, Caribbean Islands; Lori Jean Prisock Shaw of Plano, Texas; and Robert Darryl Prisock of Bakersville, California. Jean is also survived by six granddaughters, four grandsons, four nephews and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Prisock was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Dell Prisock; her parents; and two brothers: Howard Earl Richardson, who was killed while serving in World War II, and Robert “Bobby” Joseph Richardson of Birmingham, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Robert Alan Richardson, Chris Richardson, Andy Richardson, Dylan Prisock, Jonathan Ratliff, and Brad Scarborough.

Bennie Wilson Goodin

Mr. Bennie Wilson Goodin, 75, of Emmett Township died very unexpectedly, Thursday November 29, 2012 at home. He was born November 20, 1937 in Winston, MS the son of the late Wilson and Lizzie Butler Goodin. His marriage to the love of his life, Mary Ella Clark, was November 21, 1955. Bennie had owned and operated Travis Hamburgers of 14 1/2 & Gratiot. He was also known as “Toolman” and “Fatman Tools”. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, of 57 years are a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joe McAdory, son, Bennie Jr. and fiancé Dawn; grandsons, Nathan (Nicky) Smith and Jeremy Goodin, Buffy McAdory, Jody McAdory, Lynn Betz, Delinda Tubby, Katelyn Hirchberger and Jesika Ovstedal, great-grandchildren, Clayton Goodin, Dominic, Kaleb, Lexi, Sky, Draegan, Bronson and Alivia, great-great-grandson, Boston; his buddy, CoCo; four sisters and two brothers and several nieces, nephews and friends that called him dad. He was preceded in death by his grandson Jason McAdory and his brothers Gene and Bruce Goodin. Mary Gregg Kinard

Mrs. Mary Gregg Kinard, 83, died Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Starkville Manor Nursing Home in Starkville, MS. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Kinard was born January 27, 1929, in Starkville, MS. She was a retired Nursing Aid for the State of Wisconsin, and a member of First Methodist Church in Louisville, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kinard; her parents, Lillian Daniels and Thomas Gregg; her sister, Peggy Gregg Kinard; and five brothers, Henry Gregg, Harold Gregg, James Gregg, Elias Gregg, and Montee Gregg.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Frank of Dallas, TX; three sons, James Kinard of Westerville, OH, John Kinard of San Diego, CA, and Michael Kinard of Louisville, MS; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Mr. Marvin A. Duran, 85, passed away on November 20, 2012, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family.  Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.  Visitation will also be at North Bend Pentecostal Church in Neshoba County from 12 p.m. until service time with funeral services being held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012, with Rev. Johnny Peden, Rev. Burlon Commer, and Rev. Lanoia Burks officiating.  Interment will be in Old Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County.

Mr. Duran was born on October 3, 1927, to Huey Lee and Alma Ruthie Myers Duran.  He was a member of North Bend Pentecostal Church and he retired as a truck driver for Jarvis Oil Company.

He is survived by his daughters, Kay Stringfellow and Evelyn White and husband, Jule, all of Louisville, Mississippi.  Mr. Duran is also survived by four grandchildren:  Jonathan Stringfellow and wife, Donya; Brittany Lishia and husband, Joseph; Lori Young; and Leah Wylie and husband, Jason; and by two step-grandchildren, Michael White and Bradley White.  He has six great-grandchildren:  Madalyn Young; Logan Young; BreAna Stringfellow; Hayden Wylie; Jaleigh Wylie; and Jonathan David Stringfellow; as well as two step-great-grandchildren, Christian White and Hailey White.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Burnadeen Duran; his parents; and his son-in-law, Rev. Earl Stringfellow.

Clifford Leon Adcock

Mr. Clifford Leon Adcock, 84, passed away on November 18, 2012, at his residence in Louisville,Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 5 p.m.until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Mr. Adcock was born on November 1, 1928, to Willie Eugene and Jennie Whitfield Adcock. He was a member of the Baptist faith and he retired from Spartus in the Maintenance Department. He answered the call of his country during the Korean Conflict by serving in the United States Army. 

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Adcock; two sons, Keith Adcock and Kevin Adcock and wife, Karen; and by two grandchildren, Eric Adcock and Kayla Adcock all of Louisville. Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: John S. Adcock, Ernest Adcock, Willie Adcock, and Ralph Adcock; and his sister, Lois Burrage.

Allie Mae Haimes White

Mrs. Allie Mae Haimes White, 94, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at her home in Louisville, MS. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21st, at Antioch Cemetery, with Rev. Mrs. White was born July 8, 1918, in Winston County, MS. She was a retired hairdresser, and sales representative for Merle Norman. She was also a member of Eastern Star, and Poplar Flat Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Billy” White; her parents, Margie Vickers and Barney Haimes; and her brother, Ozell Haimes.

She is survived by her son, Norman (Jennie) White of Louisville, MS, 3 grandchildren, Tammye (Eric) Hamilton, Lisa (Brad) Hodges, and Rusty (Sharon) Dooley; and 4 great grandchildren.

James Olyn Gillett

Mr. , 74, died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 21st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Wayne Hill officiating. Mr. Gillett was born November 28, 1937, in Louisville, Mississippi. He retired after 42 years as a railroad engineer for Kansas City Southern, and was a farmer with many talents who could fix anything. He served in the Mississippi National Guard, and was a member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle Pugh and Solon Upton Gillett.

Mr. Gillett is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dell Johns Gillett; two daughters, Brenda (Chuck) Donald, and Cassandra Fulton, both of Louisville, MS; two sisters, Carolyn (Dobbin) Johns of Louisville, MS, and Cathryn (Billy Charles) Stokes of Noxapater, MS; four grandchildren, Nicholaus (Karla) Fulton, Mallory Donald, Macy Donald, and Katlin Fulton; and one great grandchild, Anna Grace Fulton.

Pallbearers are Nick Fulton, Joe Johns, Dobbin Johns, Bob Johns, Todd Russell, Billy Charles Stokes, Joey Johns, and Chuck Donald. Honorary Pallbearers are Employees of Kansas City Southern Railroad.
