Mrs. Cleo Hailey Gully, 92, of Lynville, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.
She was a native and longtime resident of the Lynville community in Kemper County.  She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Spartus Clock Co. in Louisville and Felder’s Clothing in Summit. Mrs. Gully was a member of Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. 

Survivors include her son, Wade Hailey (Mary) of Louisville; daughter-in-law, Betty Gayle Hailey of Meridian; grandchildren, Jan Wells, Ben Hailey, B.J. Hailey, Mike Hailey, Jason Hailey, Daniel Hailey and Kadie Holloway; great-grandchildren, Hailey Wells, Caroline Wells, Emma Wells, Josh Wells, Jackson Hailey, Elizabeth Hailey, Marigny Hailey, Alicia Aspiazu, Hagan Hailey and Hunter Holloway; sister, Bobbie Creekmore of Huntsville, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Mrs. Gully was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Lee Hailey and John T. Gully; son, Wayne Hailey; grandson, Tom Hailey; great-grandson, Wade Wayne Holloway; parents, George Irvin and Mary G. Jarvis; sister, Gladys Barrett; and brothers, Lester Jarvis, Garner Jarvis, Edward Jarvis, Leo Jarvis and R.J. Jarvis.

Pallbearers are B.J. Hailey, Jason Hailey, Daniel Hailey, Jesse Holloway, Jonathan Wells and Ben Hailey. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Gully, Lamar Hailey, Robert Hailey, Bill Hailey, Andy Hailey, Leon Fulton, Ivan Atkinson, Dr. Mike Hailey,
Tommy Jackson and Ravon Cumberland.

Walterine “Renie” Nowell

Walterine “Renie” Nowell, 87, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016, at the Choctaw County Medical Center in Ackerman, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, January 30, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Jones and Rev. Jason Gross officiating. Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.

Bobbye Cole

Bobbye Roberson Cole, age 90, was surrounded by her family as she was called home to her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Sunshine Care Center in Pontotoc, Mississippi. Born on June 17, 1925, in Louisville, Mississippi, to Melvin and Lula Bell (Coleman) Roberson, she graduated from Louisville High School and attended Draughon’s Business College in Jackson, Mississippi, for one year until her daddy told her she had been away from home long enough and it was time to move back. 

Jerry Hatcher

Jerry Hatcher, 81, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Herring and Mike Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating.

Mr. Hatcher was born May 11, 1934, to Kemp and Vera Mosley Hatcher. He attended Harmony Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver for Winston County. He was an avid hunter and loved everything about the outdoors; especially his dogs and mules.

Jerry is survived his son Danny Hatcher and wife Sandra; and his granddaughter, Morgan Hatcher, all of Louisville. Also left to mourn his passing is three sisters, Carolyn Watson of Louisville; Brenda Dawkins of Columbus, Mississippi; and Lynette Gossett of Oxford, Mississippi; a special friend, Linda Douglass; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Hatcher; parents; sister, Evelyn Williamson; and brother, Delynn Hatcher.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Goodin, Bryan Hailey, David King, Gene Richardson, Roy Taylor, Mike Whitehead and Trey Whitehead. Memorials may be given to Whitehead Cemetery Fund, c/o Rhonda Edmonson, 300 Whitehead 397 Road, Louisville, MS 39339.

William Alvah Rives, 76, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016, at Starkville Manor in Starkville, Mississippi. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Self Creek Southern Baptist Church in Starkville.

Mr. Rives was born March 25, 1939, to James Robert and Etta Anderson Rives. He retired from the United States Navy and the United States Postal Service where he was a mail carrier.

Billy Alvah is survived by his wife, Lucia Gail Rives; his daughter, Robin Elizabeth Rice; and his son, John Cockrell Rives, all of Starkville. Mr. Rives is also survived by his two grandchildren: Becca Ainsworth and Timothy Rice III; as well as his brother, Robert Rives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Jimmie Ruth Edwards.
