Bobby Culwell
Mr. Bobby Culwell, 88, passed away on March 27, 2012, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Faulk and Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Interment will be in Betheden Church Cemetery.
Mr. Culwell was born on October 9, 1923. He was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church and he served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Culwell was a retired mechanic and truck driver.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frankie Culwell of Louisville, Mississippi. Mr. Culwell has two daughters, Jo Helen Todd and husband, Bobby; and Dot Eaves and husband, Mike; as well as one son, Jerry Culwell and wife, Sandra, all of Louisville, Mississippi. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Lisa Strickland; Melissa Foster and husband, Rusty; Jeff Culwell and wife, Molly; Ryan Eaves and wife, Brooke; and Cassandra Brannon and husband, Chris. Mr. Culwell has 11 great-grandchildren: Blake Williamson, Missy Williamson, Brock Strickland, Tyler Foster, Makenna Foster, Branson Eaves, Anna Rose Eaves, Nick Culwell, Bobby Culwell, Shan Brannon, and Landi Rae Brannon. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Zula B. Spence Culwell and his brother, Wayne Culwell.

Wayne Estes
Mr. Wayne Estes, 81, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2012, at Winston Medical Center. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Sunday, March 25, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey McKay officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Estes was born on January 10, 1931. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and he served in the United States Army. Mr. Estes was a retired equipment operator with the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sylvia Parkes Estes of Louisville, Mississippi; his daughter, Michelle Brown; and granddaughter, Kayla Estes both of Philadelphia, Mississippi. He is also survived by three sisters: Maxine McCool of Noxapater, Mississippi; Jean Woodruff of Louisville, Mississippi; and Elsie Carter and husband, J. C., also of Noxapater, Mississippi. Mr. Estes also has four brothers: Dee Estes and wife Patti, of Prentiss, Mississippi; Bobby Joe Estes and wife, Faith, of Noxapater, Mississippi; Jerry Estes and wife, Ilene, and M. O. Estes and wife, Jane, all of Louisville, Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his parents, Littleton Worthy and Lottie Craig Estes; and his nephew, Craig Estes.

Mrs. Jimmie Plummer Daly, 94, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Beehive Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 22nd, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Antone Lynch officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Mrs. Daly was born May 9, 1917, in Meridian, MS. She was a graduate of Mississippi State Teacher’s College (USM). She was a homemaker, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Daly was an avid bridge player and musician. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Daly, and a sister, Lillian Stanton. She is survived by three daughters, Paula Fulton of Louisville, Theresa (T. F.) James Kimble "Kim" Webb
Mr. James Kimble “Kim” Webb, 52, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at his home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 20th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Lawson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kim was born July 17, 1959, in Louisville, MS. He was a 1977 graduate of Winston Academy, a graduate of East Central Community College, and received his B.S. degree from Mississippi State University. He had worked with the Louisville Police Department and was retired from the Miss. Public Service Commission and MDOT. He also worked with Weyerhaeuser Corporation. He loved sports from an early age and was second in the nation in the Punt, Pass, & Kick contest in the 6th grade. He played football at Winston Academy and was on the academy’s first state championship team in 1975, and played football while at EC. He was previously the softball coach at Winston Academy. Kim loved to hunt, and was a member of Little Noxubee Hunting Club, served on the shooting staff of PSE bows, and was a firearms instructor for the Midsouth Institute of Self Defense Shooting. He was a member of Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Humphries Webb and Dwight Webb.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Bobbye Kilpatrick Webb of Louisville; a daughter, Jessica Webb of Louisville; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Conner Stansel Hanna
Conner Stansel Hanna passed away peacefully on March 15, 2012, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Friday, March 23, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lundy, Rev. Chris Vowell, and Andrew Hanna officiating. Interment will be in Rocky Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hanna was born on April 1, 1915, in Noxapater, Mississippi, and lived most of his life in the Rocky Hill community in Winston County with his wife of 73 years, the former Evelyn Moore. For many years, Mr. Hanna farmed and worked as a carpenter on various construction sites in Texas, in South Carolina, and at Ingall’s Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, but he later retired from U. S. Motors in Philadelphia. After retirement, he remained active well into his 80s, even single-handedly dismantling a barn at the age of 83.
Mr. Hanna was a long-time member of Harmony Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by three children: James V. Hanna, and wife, Barbara C.; Barbara A. Hanna, all of Louisville, Mississippi; and Kathy Johnson, and husband, Randall, of Noxapater, Mississippi. He is also survived by his brothers, Jennings Wyatt Burrage, and wife, Millie, of Meridian, Mississippi, and Tom Edd Burrage, and wife, Mae Dell, of Moss Point, Mississippi. Mr. Hanna has six grandchildren: Rusty Hanna of Union, Mississippi; Keith Goodin of Madison, Mississippi; Britt Goodin of Mathiston, Mississippi; Chasity Wells, Penny Wells, and Hanna McCain all of Noxapater, Mississippi. Mr. Hanna has nine great-grandchildren: Andrew Hanna, Hunter Goodin, Conner Goodin, Jersie Claire Goodin, Anna Katherine Wells, Abby Wells, Chandler Wells, Johnson Wells, and Ryker Wells; two step-great-grandchildren, Jon Kerry and Jarrett King; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Moore Hanna; his parents, Andrew and Lucia Alice Price Burrage Hanna; and nine siblings.

John Franklin Hannah, 65, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at his home in Louisville, Mississippi. Mr. Evo Mitchel Walker, 81, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Mr. Walker was born January 7, 1931, in Stone County, MS. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He retired after more than 30 years as a mechanical engineer with Taylor Machine Works. He was a member of the Living Church of God. Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents, Wilma Johnson and Norman James Walker; two sisters, Olga Geiger and Evelyn Reed; and three brothers, Exro Walker, Lesko Walker, and Elco Walker. He is survived by his wife, Denise Ammons Walker of Louisville; a son, Ben F. (Brenda) Walker of Louisville; two step-daughters, Mavis (Victor) Unro of Columbus, MS, and Margaret (Stanley) Stroud of Sturgis, MS; a step-son, R. J. Cockrell of Reform, AL; a sister Edavee Johnson of Wiggins, MS; and four grandchildren, Brandon Walker, Tyler Walker, Quinn Stroud, and Shay Cockrell.

Mr. Thomas Ray Mitchell Jr., 68, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 10th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Father Joe Tonas officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mitchell was born August 19th, 1943 in Louisville, Mississippi. He was a salesman for Louisville Brick Company, a field representative for Baptist Chemical Dependency Center, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He also served his country as a commissioned officer in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zona Crews and Thomas Ray Mitchell Sr.; and a brother, Paul Mitchell.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Jeff) Nowell of Louisville, MS; a son, Robert Paul Mitchell of Ocean Springs, MS; one sister, Mary (Ernest) Simmons of Hazelhurst, MS; one brother, John (Carol) Mitchell of Louisville, MS; three grandchildren, Eric (Samantha) Nowell, Madison Nowell, and Benjamin Mitchell; and one great grandchild, Braxton Nowell.

Herbert Anthony "Tony" McBrayer
Mr. Herbert Anthony “Tony” McBrayer, 20, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012, at his residence in Louisville, Missisippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Thursday, March 8, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Dr. Mike Smith and Rev. Gary Caudill officiating. Interment will be in Dry Creek Cemetery in Preston, Mississippi.
Mr. McBrayer was born June 5, 1991. He attended Central Academy in Macon, Mississippi, where he played basketball, baseball and football. In 2009, Tony graduated from New Hope High School where he played football and baseball and was an All-American Sports Hero. He then attended East Mississippi Community College.
Mr. McBrayer is survived by his mother, Susie Nelson and friend, James Green, of Louisville, and his father, Randy McBrayer and wife, Andi, of Sebewaing, Michigan. He is also survived by four sisters: Ashleigh McBrayer and Brandy McMillan and husband, Steven, all of Louisville, Mississippi; Heather Perry Creighton of Toomsuba, Mississippi; and Mandy McBrayer of Sebewaing, Michigan. He is survived by his grandparents, Roy and Nell Maxwell of Meridian, Mississippi; as well as by four uncles: J. D. McBrayer and wife, Amy, and Tom McBrayer and wife, Vickie, all of Sebewainng, Michigan; Chuck McBrayer of Texas; and Robert Maxwell and wife, Tracie, of Jackson, Mississippi; and his aunt, Betty Roach and husband, John, of Louisville, Mississippi. Mr. McBrayer was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frances Maxwell, Barbara McCollum, and Charles McBrayer.

Mrs. Lee was born October 23, 1916, in Sturgis, MS. She was a homemaker and worked as a medical clerk at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman. She was a member of Wes Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eckford Lee; and her parents, Jenny Jackson and Robert Speir.
Mrs. Lee is survived by two sons, William (Colleen) Lee and Charles (Ann ) Lee, both of Brandon, MS; two sisters, Chaney Holman of Sturgis, MS, and Cubelle Killman of Johnson City, TN; three grandchildren, Amy L. Topik, Ben Lee, and Jennifer Robinson; and two great grandchildren, John David Topik and Mary Lee Topik.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Ray, Harold Yarbrough, Bill Lindsey, Ben Lee, Derek Topik, and Brent Robinson.

Steven Bradley Sharp
Mr. Steven Bradley Sharp, 30, of Sturgis, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, in Opelousas, Louisiana. A memorial service will be held at Truth Christian Center in Louisville, Mississippi, on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Phil Lowrey and Adam Lowrey officiating.
Mr. Sharp is survived by his mother, Kathleen M. Sharp of Sturgis, Mississippi, and his sister, April L. Miller and husband, Jerrod, of Arnaudville, Louisiana. He is also survived by two brothers, Zane and Zachery Watson of Sturgis, Mississippi; two nephews, Clay Turnage and Chance Miller; and one niece, Camryn Turnage, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Charles Sharp and his paternal grandparents, Willie and Nellie Sharp all of Sturgis, Mississippi; and his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Inez Lindsey of Columbus, Mississippi.

Carol Ransom Clark
Carol Ransom Clark, 83, passed away on February 29, 2012, at her home in Jackson. Visitation will be held Friday, March 2nd, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephens Reformed Episcopal Church, in Flowood, Mississippi, with services immediately following, 10:30 to 11:00. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.
Carol was born May 30, 1928, in Reading, Pennsylvania to the late Phyllis and Percival Ransom. She is a graduate of Southern Seminary in Buena Vista, Virginia, where she met Bill Clark who was attending VMI. He owned and operated Observa-Dome Labs in Jackson, a company which manufactured domes housing telescopes for both the military and private customers. They married in 1949 and moved to Jackson where she was a member of DAR and Le Déjeuner Luncheon Club. Carol grew up spending summers in Cape May, New Jersey and continued the tradition with her children. Her love of the Coast continued, as she and Bill retired in Pass Christian for twenty-six years until Hurricane Katrina destroyed their home. They were members of the Pass Christian Yacht Club
Carol's abiding faith sustained her throughout her eleven year battle with ovarian cancer. She met with her weekly prayer group until a few weeks prior to her death.
Carol is survived by two daughters, Melanie McNeel (Niles), Louisville; and Carol Hammond (Lee), Jackson; and one son, Randy Clark, Jackson; grandchildren Jason McNeel (Joanna), Ridgeland; Taylor McNeel (Jessica), Ocean Springs; Caroline Hearnsberger (Jimbo), Starkville, Peter Hammond, Jackson, Andrew Hammond, Jackson; and two great grandchildren.
