Bobby Zane Miller

“Breaker, Breaker, this is Tombstone headed out with the last load going home.”

Bobby Zane Miller, 88, passed away peacefully at his home in McCool, Mississippi, surrounded by family. Bobby Zane had many careers. He was a truck driver for 50 years, while also a farmer, logger, and café and pool hall owner in Weir, Mississippi. He loved to make a deal.

In his later years, he could always be found sitting in his truck by the side of the road checking on the animals, and chatting with friends who would stop to talk. He loved a good western, and always had the western channel playing on the TV except for short breaks for the weather report.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Kitty Sue Miller, to whom he was married for 58 years before her passing; son, Jimmy H. Miller; parents, Noble and Ruth Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Bo and Dot Miller; and numerous close friends he considered family.

Bobby Zane is survived by his sons, Johnny Miller (Nancy), Bobby Miller, Jr., and daughters, Susan Lishman and Teresa Facemire. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Rebecca Croft (Nathan), Johnny “Jack” Miller, II (Chelsea), Melissa Blakely (Alex), Amanda Jaynes (Justin), Kristen Lishman, Zane Facemire (Jessie), and Salaste Payden; as well as his great-grandchildren: Thomas Croft, Simon Croft, Natalie Miller, Johnny Miller, III, Adelina Miller, Clayton Conn, Cameron Conn, McKenzie Dodge, Emma Jaynes, John Curtis Jaynes, Landon Thomas, Harley Frost, Hudson Frost, Jordyn Facemire, Levi Fisher, Sterlin Fisher, Aniyah Murphy, Alana Payden. Bobby Zane also leaves behind his sister-in -law, Joan McDaniel; his nieces, Ann Fillingim, Carol Hemphill, Cheryl McDaniel, Vickie Bowlin, and his nephew, Kevin McDaniel.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 13 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Owen Gordon, Jr., officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 2:00 p.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Miller, Bobby Miller, Jr., Alex Blakely, Kenneth Burnham, Clayton Conn, Zane Michael Facemire, Josh Fisher, and Justin Jaynes. Memorials in honor of Bobby may be given to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund, 445 Giffin Rd, Louisville, MS 39339.
