Mrs. Dees, 93, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Peggy Jean Williams Dees, a lifelong native of Williamsville, was born on January 21, 1930 to Amzie and Nannie Mae Williams. She married Buddy Dees on November 23, 1950. Next to her Savior and her family, Peggy’s love and dedication to her family’s store Williams Brothers, was her life’s work. She grew up in the store and began working full time at the age of 19. Many people have fond memories of visiting the store and having Peggy greet them at the cash register sitting on her stool. She will be remembered for many things, but her family will most fondly remember her love for the Lord and her giving heart to those in her family and her extended Williams Brothers family.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Jane Williams Lang and Gloria Williams Emmons; she is also survived by a large, loving extended family that includes her son, Bud Dees (Mandy); daughter, Jane Crosswhite (Allen), all of Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Chip Dees(Jamie), Emily Dees Boulden (Peter), Caroline Sledge (Travis), Chad Crosswhite (Emily) and Clay Crosswhite (Libbo); 11 great-grandchildren, Levi and Grace Dees, Amzie, Atley and Brax Boulden, Gray and Mattie Sledge, Hudson and Hayden Crosswhite, Mary Thomas and Russell Crosswhite.

Mrs. Dees is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Dees; three sisters, Katherine Williams Trapp, Yvette Williams Roberson and Jonne Williams Mabus; brothers, Cooper Williams and Charles Williams.

Pallbearers are, Chip Dees, Chad Crosswhite, Clay Crosswhite, Travis Sledge, Peter Boulden, Bryan Van Devender and Dennis Davis.
