Peggy Ann Wade Heard, 91, passed away after a brief illness at home surrounded by her family on Monday, December 26, 2022. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28 at Rocky Hill Methodist Church in Louisville, Mississippi, with Bro. Keith Williams officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service in Rocky Hill Cemetery.
Peggy was born November 22, 1931, to Neal and Bessie Yarbrough Wade in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a lifelong member of Rocky Hill Methodist Church. Peggy was an avid homemaker and loving grandmother. Outside the home, she worked as a secretary at Tri-State Mill Supply. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, crafting, reading, walking, UMW, serving on the cemetery committee, traveling, and serving on the Nursing Home Auxiliary. In later years, she enjoyed word search and chocolates.
Peggy is survived by her son, Danny Heard and wife, Donna, of Louisville; and two daughters-in-law Janet Heard also of Louisville and Judy Heard of Osyka, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny Peggy/Piggy” to her grandchildren: Stephanie Harris, Bridget (Jay) Holdiness, Bradley (Jessica) Heard, Brian Heard, Brandon (Melinda) Heard, and Brittany (Brady) Eyer; three step-grandchildren: Tammy (David) Shaw, Pam Wiygul, and Liz (Damon) Spears; and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother-in-law, A. J. Hilliard; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, William Worley Heard; three sons, Michael, Lloyd, and Billy Heard; a great-granddaughter, Hatley Marie Heard; her parents; and 11 siblings.
Serving as pallbearers are Bradley Heard, Brian Heard, Brandon Heard, Tyler Harris, Cole Holdiness, and Brady Eyer. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Fulcher, Jerry Fulcher, Wade Hailey, Tommy Hudspeth, Albert Moore, and Steve Moore. Memorials in honor of Mrs. Peggy may be given to Rocky Hill Cemetery Fund.
