Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Prisock Evans, 92, of Brandon, MS, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Clinton Healthcare in Clinton, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 30th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Ricky Calloway officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Whitehall Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dot was born June 2, 1930, in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Ford High School in 1949. She worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell Telephone in Birmingham, AL, in her younger days. She later worked and retired in 1995 from the Dietary Department at the Winston County Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Evans; her parents, David and Mamie Prisock; sisters, Shirley Earline Eaves and Madge Mayo; and her brothers, Percie Prisock and Edward D. Prisock.
She is survived by her son, Charles Brock and daughter-in-law, Susan, of Brandon, MS; grandson, Phillip Brock of Dallas, TX; step-grandsons, Josh Broome of Brandon, MS and Justin Broome of Ridgeland, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Prisock, Chris Prisock, Glenn Purvis, Josh Broome, Justin Broome, and Logan Porter.
