Ricky McArthur

Ricky Derrell McArthur, 67, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Sunday, June 20, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p. m. Monday, June 21 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bryan Madison officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater, Mississippi.

Ricky was born May 21, 1954, to Clarence and Sudie Beth Hall McArthur in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was a member of Mars Hill Pentecostal Church and was retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation. After his retirement, he enjoyed driving to various locations for Crowson Auto World picking up and delivering cars. Ricky enjoyed fishing and playing solitaire. He always had a smile and a joke for everyone he met each day. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them especially snuggling with his grandbabies. He enjoyed helping both of his sons at their homes whenever needed.

Ricky is survived by his wife of 49 years Martha Reed McArthur, and his two sons Chris McArthur and wife Melinda and Jason McArthur and wife Sandy all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw” to his grandchildren Elizabeth (Adam) Eubanks and Julianne McArthur and his great-granddaughter Adalynn Eubanks. He is also survived by his sisters Brenda McArthur and Sherron (Doyle) Parker, three sisters-in-law Melanie McArthur, Mildred Goodin, and Patsy Webb, and his brother-in-law David (Mary) Reed. He also leaves a special family friend who has been a next-door neighbor for more years than either can remember, Eric Reed, as well as a host of other loved family members. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Gail Hicks and his brother Ronnie McArthur.

Serving as pallbearers are Adam Eubanks, Luke Goodin, Mark Goodin, Samuel Goodin, Stephen Goodin, Abel Hernandez, Tim Manning, Eric Reed, and Mike Reed. Memorials in honor of Ricky may be given to Mars Hill Pentecostal Church, c/o Matthew Burks, 10310 Road 179, Philadelphia, MS 39350, to purchase Bibles for the Prison Ministry.
