Kevin Vanderveen

Kevin M. Vanderveen, age 64, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Horton officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi.

Kevin was born September 4, 1956, to Calvin and Trudy Hyde Vanderveen. He was a member of Pinelake Church. Kevin was a hard worker and he loved to fish. Most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with family.

Kevin is survived by his children: Julie Claire Vanderveen of Louisville, Chloe Vanderveen of Denver, Colorado, Logan Vanderveen of Brandon, Mississippi, and Rhett Vanderveen also of Denver. He also leaves behind his mother Trudy Vanderveen, his sister Debbie Borger, and his brother Tim Vanderveen all of Denver. One of his greatest joys was being “Pop” to his two grandchildren: Claire and Brecken Vanderveen. He was preceded in death by his father Calvin Vanderveen, his brother Brian Vanderveen, and his former wife Melissa Dempsey.

Serving as pallbearers are Logan Vanderveen, Seth Smith, Cole Ellingburg, and Blake Ellingburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in memory of Kevin be given to Nowell Massey Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
