Edna Prisock Woodard

Edna Prisock Woodard, age 69, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2021, at her residence in Helena, Alabama. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Interment will follow in Murphy Creek Cemetery.

Edna was born December 6, 1951, to Edward and Earline Hindman Prisock. She was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church and most recently attended Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Edna retired from Mississippi State University as a Human Resources Coordinator. She enjoyed reading and traveling especially to the beach and the mountains. Edna was a loving and caring grandmother who enjoyed spending time with and reading stories to her children and grandchildren. She also lovingly cross stitched many gifts for family and friends. Edna loved gardening and she was especially known for growing tomatoes.

Edna is survived by her children: Stacey Woodard Farish and husband Matthew of Helena, Alabama, Ryan Woodard and wife Chelsea of Columbus, Mississippi, and Katelyn Woodard (Brennan Langford) of Birmingham, Alabama. She is also survived by her siblings: Clyde (Theresa) Prisock, Mike (Carolyn) Prisock, and Tim Prisock all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Omi” to her eight grandchildren: Taylor, Hayden, and Gavin Farish; Anna, Evan, Rozalyn, and Connor Woodard; and Brenlie Langford. She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children Richard “Dickie” Woodard.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Prisock, Drew Prisock, Jake Prisock, Jordan Prisock, Brennan Langford, and Clay Stockman. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Woodard, Matthew Farish, Ricky Hindman, Terry Hindman, and Matthew “Peko” Peacock. Memorials in honor of Edna may be given to Nowell-Massey Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
