Evelyn Pyrra

Evelyn Pyrra, 93, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be 11 a.m. Sunday, December 13 at Middleton Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Becky Smith officiating.

Evelyn was born January 18, 1927, to Elisha and Lena Fulton Gully. Evelyn and Robert lived in Detroit, Michigan, and after retiring they moved back to Winston County. She was a faithful member of Middleton Methodist Church where she served as the church secretary for more than 30 years. She and her husband loved to travel extensively making several trips to Europe and visiting much of the United States. Evelyn served her community by volunteering in the gift shop at Winston County Hospital through the hospital auxiliary. She also enjoyed working in her yard.

Evelyn is survived by her nieces and nephews: Betty Jo (Jim) Donner, Sandra (Johnny) Holdiness, Donnie (Donna) Gully, Randy (Diane) Gully, Juanita Thompson. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law Margie Gully as well as a host of great-nieces and great-nephews and their families. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert Pyrra, her parents, one brother Grady Gully, and three sisters Mary Allice Roebuck, Wealthie Marshall, and Winnie Stokes.

Serving as pallbearers are Drew Holdiness, Joey Holdiness, Trevor Holdiness, James Allen Patterson, Carl Stokes, and John White. Memorials in honor of Evelyn may be given to Middleton Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
