Lavern was born on December 17, 1947, to Vernon “Bud” and Christene Crowson Collier. She was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. Lavern loved to go fishing with her late husband, Coy, and she especially loved her grandchildren.
Lavern is survived by two sons Michael White and Kenny White and wife Kelli both of Louisville. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Miles of Ackerman, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Nana” to her seven grandchildren: Jessica White Jewell, Jon (Kathryn) White, Noah (Taylor) White, Elijah White, Gideon White, Levi White and Luke White, and to her four great-grandchildren: Raelie Jewell, Easton White, John Parker White, and Lanie Grace White. Lavern was looking forward to the birth of her fifth great-grandchild, Riley Mack White, in June. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Coy White, Jr., her granddaughter Bethany Marie White, her parents, her brother Billy Collier, and three sisters Mary Anne Quint, Christie Magyar, and Faye Robinson.
Serving as pallbearers are Jon White, Elijah White, Noah White, and Gideon White. Honorary pallbearers are Levi White, Luke White, and John Parker White.
