Mrs. Allene Hamm Peters, 94, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at the Lexington Manor Nursing Home in Lexington, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 9th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Charlie Long and Rev. Denson Landrum officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Allene was born December 3, 1925, in Winston County, MS, to Ada Richardson Hamm and Aljernon Hamm. She worked as a waitress, a line worker at TRW, and also the Louisville Garment Factory for many years. Mrs. Peters was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ned Peters; her son, Robert Stovall; four sisters, Elizabeth Hamm, Frances Quinn, Madge Brumfield, and Lorene Dees; and four brothers, Marion Hamm, Donald Hamm, Fred Hamm, and J.E. Hamm.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Tate and husband Billy, of West, MS; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hamm, Kenn Tate, Michael Tate, Robbie Stovall, Brandon Stovall, and Billy Quinn.
