Rose Ashmore Pearson, 94, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Louisville Healthcare in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Dowd officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Whitehall Methodist Church Cemetery.
Rose was born July 31, 1925, to John Wesley and Beatrice McCool Ashmore. She was a member of Whitehall Methodist Church. Rose will always be remembered for her homemade loaf bread, pound cakes, and tea cakes which were specialties at Whitehall bake sales. She worked at Peggy’s Grill; later she worked in the cafeteria at Louisville Elementary School and drove a school bus. Rose enjoyed word search puzzles, working in her flowers, and quilting but most of all; she loved spending time with her family and was a caregiver to everyone.
Rose is survived by two daughters Charlotte Roach of Starkville, Mississippi; and Jean Sullivan and husband Doyle of Nanih Waiya; and one son Jerry Pearson and wife Ellen of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Maw Rose” to her 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert T. Pearson; two sons Larry and Devan Ferguson; her parents; her sister Martina Ashmore; and three brothers: Charles, Jimmy, and Buck Ashmore.
Serving as pallbearers are Pat Sullivan, David Sullivan, Dustin Pearson, Matthew Sullivan, Preston Foster, Clark Sullivan, and Erwin “Rusty” Roach.
