Chris Bane

Chris Bane, 74, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 29 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Dowd and Rev. Ron Thomas officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Chris was born March 29, 1945, to Richard Brice and Calvie Hudspeth Bane in Winston County, Mississippi. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. According to his family, “he was a man of few words unless he was talking about Taylor Machine Works, Ford F150’s, or Ole Miss football.” Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching westerns. After 51.5 years of dedicated service, he retired in 2016 from Taylor Machine Works.

Chris is survived by his wife of 54 years Paula Pearson Bane; his daughter Christa Dempsey and husband Jarrod all of Louisville; and his son Paul Bane and wife Janice of Mathiston. He also leaves behind his sister Jean Dearman and husband Lyn; and special friends Sherry Usry and husband John all of Meridian. One of his greatest joys was being “Pepaw” to his three grandchildren: Chelsea Lynn Bane, Dakota Dempsey and Noah Dempsey. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Cody Bane; brothers Richard, Kenneth, and Donnie Bane; and his sister Barbara Rhodes.

Serving as pallbearers are Craig Bane, Jarrod Dempsey, Mark Pearson, Mike Pearson, Tommy Pearson, and Tony Pearson. Memorials in honor of Chris may be given to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund, 445 Giffin Rd., Louisville, MS 39339.
