Mrs. Blackwell was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, on January 9, 1947, to James W. and Rachel Pickett Beason. For more than 27 years, she was co-owner of Blackwell’s Kwik Pik located on Highway 397. She loved working in her yard; spending time with her family; and taking care of her grandchildren.
Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her daughter, Stacie VanLandingham and husband, Barry; her son, Chris Blackwell and wife, Bridgette, all of Louisville; and her sister, Debbie Bullock and husband, Brad, of Tupelo, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandma” to her four grandchildren: Sophie and Blaine VanLandingham; Ashley Malone; and Mackenzie Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis G. Blackwell; and her parents.
