Eleanor Faye Ray Teters, “Faye”, was brought into this world on December 20, 1942, (in a little log cabin in Attala County) and was welcomed into Heaven on September 9, 2017. She was an amazing gift to all who were blessed by knowing her and loving her. She blessed so many hearts and souls. She loved the Lord with all her heart and she was a very proud and dedicated member of Doty Springs Baptist Church for many years.
After graduation in 1960 she moved to Jackson and became a switch-board operator for Bell Telephone Company. While working there she met Max T. Teters. They were married on October 6, 1962. Then her journey began. They lived all over the United States followed by assignments in Singapore, Malaysia and Tripoli, Libya. While abroad they traveled over Europe and had many great adventures. During this, the “wet behind the ears” Mississippi girl had two children that she loved, cared for, and protected to the end of the earth! Finally she came “home”…. They moved back to Mississippi in 2000. It was here where her heart always stayed. She was deeply rooted in her family, the history, the people and her memories.
She would fight for what she believed in but was also soft and had a heart of gold! She will be missed dearly by all.
Mrs. Teters was preceded in death by her father Elton G. Ray, mother Bessie Irene Woods, sister Sarah Lynn Ray Ayers, and two infant brothers.
