Gloria Hare Lundy, 66, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3, 2014, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Visitation will also be the day of the service from 12 p.m. until service time at Harmony Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. David Addy and Rev. Paul Blanchard officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Stephens officiating.
Gloria was born on May 13, 1948, to Charles B. and Nell Helms Hare. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church; a homemaker; and a faithful pastor’s wife for 38 years.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rev. Jerry Lundy of Louisville; her daughter, Amy Lundy Willis and husband, Glenn, of Philadelphia, Mississippi; and her sons, Jay Lundy and wife, Raylene, of Rockwall, Texas; and Philip Lundy of Vero Beach, Florida. She loved being “Grandma” to her five grandchildren: Ryan Lundy; Jason Lundy; Tanner Lundy; Justin Bates and wife, Ashley; and Victoria Burton; as well as two great-grandchildren, Nathan Lundy and Rylee Bates. She is also survived by her parents; her sister, Gail Netherland and husband, Charles; and two brothers, Benny Hare and wife, Lilly; and Billy Hare and wife, Terri.
Serving as pallbearers will be Marty Barber, Danny Hare, Joseph Hare, Daniel Lundy, Chuck Netherland, and Dennis Netherland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to The Baptist Children’s Village, c/o Mark Mathis, 1159 Pickett Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
