Kenneth D. "Doug" Quinn

Kenneth D. “Doug” Quinn, 81, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at his residence in Noxapater, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014, in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater with Rev. Trent Bilbo officiating. The service will be moved to Noxapater Baptist Church if inclement weather prevents a graveside service.

Mr. Quinn was born on October 8, 1932, to Mazie Taylor Quinn and Leonard Quinn. He was a member of Noxapater Baptist Church, and he was self-employed.

Mr. Doug is survived by his wife of 62 years, Tenie Hensley Quinn; and daughters, Brenda Moore and husband, Dwight; Linda Kirk and husband, Bruce, all of Noxapater; and Faye Quinn Glass of Franklin, Tennessee. He was “Daddy Doug” to Amy Burns and husband, Bradley, of Brandon, Mississippi; Ginger Robey and husband, Patrick, of Batesville, Mississippi; Kristi McCluskey and husband, Carey, also of Brandon; Benjamin Kirk and wife, Nadine, of Daleville, Mississippi; Sydney Sisson and husband, Kolby, of Clinton, Mississippi; Mary Margaret Robbins and husband, T. J., of Noxapater; and Quinn Glass of Franklin, Tennessee. He was also “Daddy Doug” to eight great-grandchildren: Walker and Cora Robey; Brinlee and Brogen McCluskey; Hensley and Della Burns; and Corbin and Caroline Kirk. Mr. Quinn is also survived by his sister, Glenda Ree Barnes and husband, Billy, of Noxapater; and his brother, Larry Quinn and wife, Beverly, of Louisville, Mississippi; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Kirk, Dwight Moore, Benjamin Kirk, Thomas Barnes, Bradley Burns, Patrick Robey, Carey McCluskey, T. J. Robbins, and Kolby Sisson. Memorials may be given to Noxapater Baptist Church Family Life Center Fund, P. O. Box 251, Noxapater, MS 39346.
