James W. McBrayer

Mr. James W. McBrayer, 74, died Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his home in Noxapater, MS . Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, at 10:00 A.M. at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Wayne Hill and Rev. Franklin Smith officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Indian Springs Cemetery.
J. W. was born July 14, 1940, in Winston County, MS. He worked for Noxapater Water Department. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday School superintendent. He was also a member of the National Guard and Reserve of the United State Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Webb and Ellen Adcock McBrayer; one sister, Alice Faye McBrayer; and two brothers, Eddy and Andy McBrayer.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dollye Walker McBrayer; a daughter, Sheila (Bobby) Lloyd of Noxapater, MS; a son, Paul (Kathy) McBrayer of Louisville; and grandchildren, Robby (Kassie) Lloyd, Missy (Matt) Young, and Blake, Mason, and Gracie McBrayer. He is also survived by four special great grandsons, Zack and Taylor Lloyd, and Kody and Kyler Young. He leaves behind one brother, Albert (Wanda) McBrayer, and five sisters, Betty Fisher, Ann Jenness, Martha O’Shia, Margie (Bill) Brown, Peggy (Billy) Pace, and two sisters-in-law, Ann McBrayer and Katherine McBrayer.

Pallbearers will be Robby Lloyd, Matt Young, Ricky Eaves, Jimmy Short, Casey Hill, Leslie Myers, and Lee Myers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class at Liberty Baptist Church, Bill Clark, Allen Goodin, Marshall Beck, Ralph Duran, and Bobby Stanley.
