Mr. Theodore Houston, 98, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 24, 2014, at the Louisville Health Care Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Vernon Methodist Church with Rev. Becky Smith officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Vernon Methodist Church from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Vernon Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Houston was born October 15, 1915, to Mary Cornelius Hill and John King Houston. He was a member of Vernon Methodist Church and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Maxine Houston, of Louisville, Mississippi; and his brother, Otis Houston and wife, Virginia, of Louisville, Mississippi. Mr. Houston is also survived by his nephew and seven nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Olan Houston; his sister, Jessie Inez Bennett; his nephew, Harold Adams; and his niece, Mary Lynn Houston.
Serving as pallbearers are Edward Stokes, Trey Stevens, Zack Stevens, Raymond Reed, Randy Sullivan and Lee Edward Taylor. Memorials may be given to Vernon Methodist Church, 820 Palmer Road, Louisville, MS 39339
