Harold Gordon Jr.

(Mr. Harold Curtis Gordon, Jr., 62, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 8th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Prentiss Gordon, Sr., Rev. Prentiss Gordon, Jr., and Rev. Owen Gordon officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Gordon was born October 28, 1951, in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Sturgis High School, and from Mississippi State University with a degree in Forestry. He was a self-employed forester.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Belle Shumaker Rhodes; his father, Harold Curtis Gordon, Sr., and a brother, Henry Rhodes.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Barnett Gordon of Louisville; two sons, Brian Gordon of Nashville, TN, and Neil Gordon of Ackerman; a step-son, Jordan Hammons of Dallas, TX; a step-daughter, Heather Shockley of Denver, CO; and a sister, Ann James of Grenada, MS.

In lieu, of flowers, the family request that memorials may be made to the American Leukemia Society, or the Mississippi Forestry Association Foundation.
