Frances Shumaker

Mrs. Frances Shumaker, 73, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at her residence in Pheba, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapelat 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, with Rev. Greg Skelton officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Shumaker was born on April 2, 1940, to Mary Culver Tuttle and Willie Culver. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and she was a retired Manager’s Assistant atOktibbeha County Lake.

Survivors are her husband, James Shumaker of Pheba; two daughters, Lynn Brigance and husband, Tim, also of Pheba; and Loretta Blansett of Cumberland, Mississippi; and two sons, Eddie Shumaker and wife, Johnice; and Edward Shumaker all of Pheba. She is also survived by four sisters: Christine Bing and Pauline Russom both of Waterford, Mississippi; Bernice Watkins and husband, Bobby, of Holly Springs, Mississippi; and Lottie Dempsey and husband, J. W., of McCool, Mississippi; and by two brothers, Joe Culver of Byhalia, Mississippi; and Travis Culver and wife Margarit, of Waterford. Mrs. Shumaker has nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and brothers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Austin White, Ashley Britt, Mitch McDaniel, Hank Dempsey, Scott Dempsey, and Randy Watkins. Memorials may be given to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 10713 Hwy 14 West, Louisville, MS 39339.
