Mrs. Kathleen Lofton Kemp, 86, of Noxapater, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville.
She was a native of the Dixon community in Neshoba County but had been a resident of Noxapater since the late 50’s. She had formerly worked as an x-ray technician at Neshoba County General Hospital and later at Winston County Community Hospital . She operated Noxapater Hardware and Gifts with her husband for a number of years. Mrs. Kemp was a member of Noxapater Baptist Church. She was a former member of Noxapater Garden Club.
Survivors include her sons, William (Patty) Johnson of Louisville and Johnny (Cheryl) Johnson of Mendenhall; stepsons, Jimmy (Peggy) Kemp of Noxapater and Randy (Cindy) Kemp of Meridian; grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Todd Johnson, Chris Johnson, Brad Johnson, Emily McClain and Julie Shivers; great-grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Madison Greer, Meredith McClain, Hutch McClain, Kathleen Bess McClain, Trip Johnson, Lane Johnson and Maggie Johnson; sister, Lynn (Scotty) Anthony of Dixon; brothers, Cotton (Peggy) Lofton of Hattiesburg, Pat Lofton of Laurel, Kermit (Faye) Lofton of Madden and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Mrs. Kemp was preceded in death by her husbands, Willard Johnson, Hamlet Barnes and Hosea Kemp ; sister, Helen Stodgill and brothers, Earl Lofton and A. G. Lofton.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 20th beginning at 1 pm at Noxapater Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:30 pm with interment in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
