Mary Jane “Janie” Yarbrough

 Mary Jane “Janie” Yarbrough, age 75, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital—Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 8 at Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Friday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. at The Assembly in Columbus with Reverend Lynn Terry officiating with Reverend Jody Gurley assisting. Interment will immediately follow the service in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Winston County with Reverend Granville Wiggins officiating.

Janie was born March 4, 1950, to Clarence “Bud” and Nadean Sullivan Adcock in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a member of The Assembly in Columbus where she faithfully attended the Senior Tuesday morning Bible Study and fellowship. She cherished spending time with her family and her cats and was known for her loyalty to friends, maintaining many close friendships for more than 40 years.

Janie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Benny Yarbrough of Columbus; her daughters, Amy Yarbrough and Jennifer Yarbrough both of Georgia; and her son, Matthew Yarbrough also of Columbus. She is also survived by her sister, Dianne Adcock and sister-in-law, Patricia Adcock both of Louisville; as well as her loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Harold Adcock.

Serving as pallbearers are Steve Triplett, Barry Yarbrough, Jeffrey Yarbrough, Jason McArthur, Abel Hernandez, and A. J. Vezina. Memorial contributions in honor of Janie may be given Aged Ministers Assistance, c/o The Assembly, 2201 Military Road, Columbus, MS 39705.
