James Tommy Love, 88, of Louisville, MS., passed on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 at the Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo, Mississippi. Funeral service will be Monday, November 18, 2024 at 11 a.m., from Mount Cannie M. B. Church, 3187 Enon Road, Louisville, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, from 4 until 6 p.m., from the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements.

James Tommy Love was born on March 29, 1936, in Louisville, MS., to Charlie and Winnie Mae Eiland Love.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elmer Love, Arthur Love, Jimmy Love and Virginia Triplett.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jettie McCary Love; children, Johnny James Love, Earl (Ida Mae) Love, Mary Love Coleman, James Tommy Love, Jr. (Betty), Charles Leon Love (Mary), Rose Mary Love, Nellie Love Darden and Ella Love Smith all of Louisville, MS; stepchildren, Stephany Estes Coleman, Chassity McCary Ashford (Earnest) both of Louisville, MS. and Woodrow McCary (Diancal) of Jacksonville, FL; 27 grands, and 34 great grands; brother, Rev. Dennis Lee Bradshaw

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Lee Bradshaw, who left this world on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at the age of 44. Dennis was born on February 18, 1980, in Philadelphia, MS and resided in the Linwood Community.

He enjoyed camping with his family and especially loved being with his children and grandchildren. Lee was a proud husband and father who loved his family. He will be remembered and missed by all. His warmth and laughter will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Tonya Bradshaw of Union; daughter, Breanna Thompson of Philadelphia; sons, Joshua Bowman of Union, Aaron (Amber) Sullivan of Union, James (Mallory) Bradshaw of Union and Ayden Bradshaw of Union; grandchildren, Jaciey Melton, Liam Melton, Avery Sullivan and Ryan Griffin; sisters, Angel (Cody) Edwards of Louisville, Jessica (Austin) McElhenney of Union and Katie (Jamie) Fuller of Philadelphia; brother, Paul Davis of Philadelphia; step-father, Junior Roberson of Philadelphia; mother-in-law, Billie Hurtman of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew Bradshaw; mother, Elizabeth Roberson; father, Dennis Ferguson; brother, David Ferguson; grandparents, Bertha and Andrew Bradshaw, Lizzie Roberson and Florence Walker.

Tim Cumberland

Funeral services for Tim Cumberland will be held Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. at Bond Baptist Church near Philadelphia, with Bro. Ben McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow immediately in the Bond cemetery, with visitation to be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Massey Funeral Home of Louisville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cumberland, 74, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Thursday, Nov.7, 2024 in Jackson.

Tim Horace Cumberland was born in Neshoba County on June 30, 1950 to James Clifton (Kitty) and Bonnie Fulton Cumberland. He attended school at Bond and later graduated from Neshoba Central before heading to Mississippi State University and East Central Junior College and graduating from Delta State University.

He was a Superintendent for Ivey Mechanical Company, where he devoted more than 45 years in support of his family. Mr. Cumberland worked across nearly 40 states and sported a lengthy list of professional accomplishments, winning dozens of industry awards from organizations such as Associated Builders and Contractors of Mississippi.

Tim was a skilled handyman and repairman who enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family, listening to Gospel music, giving his testimony and sharing the word of his Lord and Savior to friends, loved ones and strangers alike.

Tim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dianne Coward Cumberland. He was affectionately known as “Daddy Tim” to children and grandchildren Kayse Jennings, Kelly (Rocky) Higginbotham, Levi Cumberland, John Clifton (Kelli) Pope, Kalie Jennings, Caitlin (Marisa) Dickerson, Jacob Dickerson, Joseph Dickerson, Meagan Higginbotham and Jordan (Layla) Higginbotham; and to great-granddaughter Lucie Sharp. He is also survived by his brother Ray (Shirley) Cumberland, mother-in-law Bettye Jo Coward, sister-in-law Nell Whitehead, and brother-in-law Dell (Debra) Coward and leaves behind to mourn a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.

Mr. Cumberland was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Don and Betty Cumberland, and father-in-law Olyn Coward.

Pallbearers are Phil Cumberland, Mike Cumberland, Mic Cumberland, Steve Cumberland, Cody Butts, Jonathan Whitehead, Dell Coward and Darrin Pickett. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Stallo Hunting Club: Craig Clay, Michael Bennett, Jimmy Rushing, Ron Fisher, Joey Jackson, Patrick Jackson, Kenny Price, Wayne Price, Chas Robinson, T.J. Rushing, Jacob Stewart, Johnny Stewart, Peyton Williamson, Shannon Williamson and Charley Rushing.

Ashton Theodore Hamme, II, PhD

Ashton Theodore Hamme, II, PhD, passed on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Peach Tree Village Assisted Living Facility, in Brandon, MS. Ashton Theodore Hamme, II was born on November 13, 1970 to Ashton Theodore Hamme and Late Eva Cobb Hamme in Detroit, MI.

At an early age, Ashton accepted Christ as his Savior, attending Church as a youth in Bessemer, AL. , his faith in the Lord also matured, leading him to be an active member of various churches. He served in various capacities,  of the Church, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Choir Member. 

On July 3, 1993, Ashton united in Holy Matrimony with Joyce Wade. To this Union four beautiful daughters were born; Lauren Vashti, Auburn Lee, Ashley Clarie and Leah Grace.

After graduating from Southfield High School in 1988, Ashton attended Jackson State University, earning a B.S. in Chemistry. He later attended the Ohio State University, earning a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. He returned to Jackson State University in 2000 in the Department of Chemistry. Ashton became a Professor of Chemistry and later served as the Department's  Interim Chair. Completing 20 years of Service to "The I Love". Jackson State University.

Ashton, is survived by; wife, Joyce of 31 years and their children, Lauren, Auburn, Ashley and leah; father, Ashton Hamme and a host of other relatives and friends.

Carroll Dawkins

Carroll Burton Dawkins, formerly of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his residence in Colorado Springs, CO. Carroll was born on September 19, 1946, in Choctaw County, MS, to Albert Benny and Ruby (Wood) Dawkins. He was 78 years old. Carroll was a Retired HVAC Technician and a member of the First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS. He was a United States Army Veteran who fought in the Vietnam War.

Funeral services will be held at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery near Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home.

Carroll is survived by his wife, Shirley Kay (Wood) Dawkins of Colorado Springs, CO; his 2 sons, Warren Dawkins of Washington and Adam Kyle (Charity) of Colorado Springs, CO; his daughter, Angela Dawley (Chuck) of New Hope, MS; and his 2 brothers, Calvin Dawkins of Brandon, MS and Wayne Dawkins of Maben, MS. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Benny and Ruby (Wood) Dawkins; his 2 brothers, Leon Dawkins and Marvin Dawkins; and his 2 sisters, Myrtle Sides and Doris Thomas.

Maxine Evelyn Mouliere Busby

Maxine Evelyn Mouliere Busby of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Maxine was born on September12, 1945, in Bunkie, LA, to Max S. and Catherine (Scallan) Mouliere. She was 79 years old. Maxine was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a member of Chester Baptist Church near Ackerman, MS.

Funeral services will be held at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery in Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be held prior to service time from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS.

Maxine is survived by her son, Chris (Lorie) Busby of Weir, MS; her sister, Robben M. Fontane of Bunkie, LA; and her two grandchildren, Payton (Abbigayle) Busby of Starkville, MS and Laken Busby of Weir, MS. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie L. “Red” Busby, Sr.; her son, Johnie L. Busby, Jr.; her parents, Max S. and Catherine (Scallan) Mouliere; and her sister, Gayle M. Chotto.
