Carolyn Hatcher

Carolyn Hatcher, 91, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at BeeHive Homes in Louisville, Mississippi, with her loving family by her side. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 13 at Middleton Methodist Church with Reverend Becky Smith officiating. Visitation will be at the church the day of the service from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Middleton Cemetery.

Carolyn was born April 20, 1933, to Robert and Janie Schoolar Holton in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a lifelong member of Middleton Methodist Church. For more than 28 years, she worked at The Spartus Corporation in Louisville and she was a homemaker. Carolyn was an excellent seamstress especially talented in making clothing and curtains. She was known for the beautiful flowers she grew in her yard and when they were in bloom, she took a bouquet to church each Sunday. Also, she was known as a “woman of her word.”

Carolyn is survived by her children, Mark (Nina) Hatcher of Starkville, Mississippi; Crystal Clark; Karla (Chuck) Harkins; and Jayna (Jimmy) Peterson all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “MaMaw Hatcher” to her grandchildren: Leslie (Mark) Henderson; Jolie (Robert) Wailes; Gar (Bridgette) Hatcher; Skyler (Julie) Hatcher; Chris (Jena) Estes; Kristian (Matthew) Williamson; Paul (Kelsi) Harkins; Matt (Stephanie) Harkins; Hope Estes; Brett (Brooke) Estes; Brandt (Bailey) Peterson; and Scott Peterson; in addition to her 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Brenda Alford, Marilyn (Dalton) Chisum, and David (Patricia) Holton; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Garner Hatcher; grandson, Chad Estes; son-in-law, Gary Clark; her parents; brother, Harold Holton; and sister, Margie Alford.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Estes, Brett Estes, Skyler Hatcher, Gar Hatcher, Matt Harkins, and Paul Harkins. Honorary pallbearers are Brandt Peterson and Scott Peterson. Memorials in honor of Carolyn may be given to Middleton Cemetery Fund.
