Lance Wade Groceman

Lance Wade Groceman of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his residence in Ackerman, MS. Lance was born on November 18, 1956, in Kansas City, MO to Paul Groceman and Patricia (Rogers) Groceman. He was 67 years old.

Lance married the love of his life and his best friend, Vicky, on July 28, 1980 in Muleshoe, TX. They moved back to Mississippi shortly after their daughter, Tamara, was born in 1984. Lance was a very skilled carpenter. He took great pride in his work. He retired in 2020. Lance loved the outdoors and he spent many hours on their front porch or in his shed watching the deer roam in their pastures. Lance was a very honest, loyal, and hardworking man. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren tremendously. He was one of a kind and all who really knew him loved him.

A celebration of life will be held for Lance on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS.

Lance is survived by his wife, Vicky (Chesnut) Groceman of Ackerman, MS; two daughters, Tamara (Lance) Walker of Gulf Shores, AL and Arron Savoie of Indiana; 2 brothers, Ryan Groceman of Indiana, and Ray Groceman of Mississippi; 4 sisters, Debbie Ann Groceman and Paula Billinger of Missouri, Debbie Clark of Mississippi, and Janet Roark of Tennessee; 8 grandchildren, Lexi (Hunter), Chance, Cooper, Piper, Gavin, Ava, Dash, and Veronica, and 3 great-grandchildren; and his father in law, Joel Nowlin of Mississippi. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Groceman and Patricia (Rogers) Groceman, a sister, Lynn Carr, his step-mother, Shirley Groceman, his mother-in-law, Ruth Nowlin, and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
