Gay Reynolds Jackson

Gay Reynolds Jackson, a dedicated and beloved member of the Louisville community, passed away peacefully at her home in Louisville, MS on August 25, 2023. She was born on December 9, 1936, in Livingston, TN to Opha and Hooper Reynolds.

Throughout her life, Gay left an indelible mark through her various roles. She and her husband, Burgess P. Jackson, were the proud owners and operators of Jackson Auto and Marine for 33 years in Louisville. Their hard work and commitment to excellence allowed them to serve their community with integrity and gain the respect of those they worked with.

A woman of deep faith, Gay was a devoted member of the Louisville Church of Christ. Her spiritual beliefs provided her with comfort and guidance throughout her journey.

Gay cherished time spent with her family above all else. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. She found immense joy in their company and delighted in witnessing them grow into remarkable individuals. Aside from family gatherings, Gay could often be found outdoors working in her yard, tending to her vibrant flowers and nurturing her garden. This connection to nature brought her tranquility and serenity.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burgess P. Jackson; her parents, and a great grandchild, Emery McCants. She is survived by daughters Brenda Stokes and Debbie Hall along with Debbie's husband Danny. Gay also leaves behind a sister, Carol Lawson, and her husband Ron. Her grandchildren include Skye (Jordan) McCants, B.J. (Kelly) Sullivan, Steven (Kali) Rogers, and Cory (Aubrey) Hall. Gay was also blessed with great-grandchildren Makenzi McCants, Addison McCants, Bella Sullivan, Ryker Sullivan, Jax Rogers, Anna Kate McCants, Ella Grace Hall, and Kenzi Rae Rogers. Additionally, she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

The services to honor and celebrate Gay's life will be held at Porter Funeral Home on Sunday, August 27th, at 3:00 P.M. , with Bro. Billy Conn officiating . The visitation will take place on August 27, 2023, from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jordan McCants, B. J. Sullivan, Steven Rogers, Cory Hall, David Coleman, and Chris Coleman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gay's name to the charity of your choice.
