Mary Coletti Cole Barnett

Mary Coletti Cole Barnett, the only child of Marvin and Gladys Cole, was born in Louisville, Mississippi on November 19, 1960. As a young girl Coletti chose to follow Christ as her personal Savior whom she loved dearly and served faithfully all her life. She met Kelly Barnett in the fall of 1981 at Clarke College in Newton, Mississippi. They married on February 5, 1982 and enjoyed 41 years during which God blessed them with two children, Katelyn and Kyle.

Coletti and Kelly graduated from Mississippi College then moved to Ft. Worth, Texas for Seminary. Katelyn was born during those wonderful seminary years. In 1989 God called them to serve as pastor and wife of FBC Ft. Davis, TX where Coletti took on the role of church secretary and Mom and other opportunities including the birth of their son, Kyle in 1993. She also served the St. Joseph Baptist Church, LA, Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, Florence, TX school teacher, and The Worship Place.
Coletti served God by serving others. She preferred working behind the scenes whether in the audio-visual booth or the kitchen. She devoted her time to showing others the love of God through her service. She enjoyed crafts and used them as a ministry whether crocheting or cooking. She used her gifts as a missionary for Christ. She loved people just as she found them.

When faced with recurring cancer in 2020, she said calmly and reassuringly, “God has a plan and we can trust Him” and so she did. One day she met with her oncologist who explained how the cancer was spreading throughout her body. The oncologist stopped and asked, “What questions to do you have?” Coletti looked her in the eye and asked firmly, “Do you know Jesus as your personal Savior?”
Coletti was an exemplary pastor’s wife. Always serving lovingly, never complaining or criticizing, always faithful. Her motto was, “Wherever the Lord leads is home.” She would want you to know that God loves you and you can trust Him in life and in death.

Coletti will be greatly missed by her husband, Kelly, her daughter Katelyn and son-in-law, Paul Michael Moore of Baytown, TX, her four grandchildren, Luke, Ellie, Addie and Logan, son, Kyle of Florence, TX and many precious friends.
