Graveside service for Carolyn Tew will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2 p.m. from Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County with Bro. William Shepheard officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tew, of Louisville, died Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Carolyn was born and raised in Leake County, MS and attended Edinburg School. She worked in several production factories over the years and loved to work in her flower beds, cutting grass, fishing, her Bantam chickens and her pet turtle. She dearly loved her grandchildren and family. Mrs. Tew was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include, daughter, Belvia Hemphill (John) of Louisville, MS; son, Rupert Tew (Cindy) of Gonzales, LA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jackie McMurry of Edinburg, MS; sisters, Helen Johnson (James) of Carthage, MS and Brenda Adcock of Pearl, MS; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Mrs. Tew was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Tew; son, Buddy Tew; great-grandchild, Jasmine Singh; brother, Jimmy McMurry; sister, Linda Thompson.
