Laura Blackstock

Laura Blackstock, 81 originally from Jackson, Tennessee, died Monday, September 19, 2022 in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Englewood Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Philip Jett officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 12:00 until the time of service.

Laura married Terry Blackstock on February 17, 1966. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved cooking for family and friends, gardening and traveling the world. Her love of Gospel music and books were shared by many. She received great pleasure out of the little things in life.

She was the daughter of Ada and John White. Laura graduated from Louisville High School and was married for 48 years to Terry Blackstock. Laura worked as a stylist in Jackson, Tennessee, for over forty years. She was an active member of Englewood Baptist Church, involved in the women’s ministry and Bible studies until she relocated to The Claiborne, in Starkville, Mississippi, in 2015 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, to whom she was known as “Nana.”

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Terry, her parents and brothers, Tony and Neil White, and her sisters Earline Hutchinson and Carolyn Allen. 

She is survived by a daughter, Lynda McReynolds and husband Dr. Tom McReynolds of Starkville; and four grandchildren: John, Mary Margaret, Will and Harris McReynolds of Starkville; her sister, Marvel Thompson, and her brother, Travis White.
